Been hearing some rumors of it, and some bullshite ones at that. Heard an 18 year old dumb brod tried driving back from Groundhog's Day, and she blamed it on them. What a bunch of shite if true. That could have happened to any fraternity, and a dumb bitch has to frick it up. I'm sure she's going to be insanely popular on campus now. I really liked the Sigma Chis and they were always chill dudes to hang out with. Sorry to the Sigma Chi fraternity if true. RIP for now.

They are the ones that are putting on Derby Day. There might not be a Derby Day which is a travesty in itself.

yeah pretty dumb on the part of the school for doing this. I feel like they kick someone off campus or put someone on probation at least once a year to make themselves feel like they have power. Hate it for them if this is true because this seriously could happen to any fraternity on any given night.

As dumb as this may sound, greek life is pretty important not only to ole miss, but most SEC schools. When you kill the Greek system, you kill one of the major attractions to the school.

If SAE didn't get kicked off for the cop incident years back, you know with an active member who was a rush chair, then I don't know where they get the balls to go even harsher on Sigma Chi when no one was harmed and didn't directly involve an active member.

Yeah Derby Days is cancelled and Sigma Chi is kicked off campus for one year. House will be empty, no rush, no parties, nothing for one year.

They ran into a lot of issues with groundhog day, such as multiple girls going to the hospital with ambulances showing up at their house. That isn't enaugh to get kicked off though so I'm not sure what else happened.

Kicked off campus or just put on probation?

Unless they were already on probation, I can't see them being kicked off campus for something like this. Either way its bullshite. Who actually drives to Groundhog Day? They run shuttles back and forth.

Kicked off is what I'm hearing from sorority girls, so I'm thinking it's true. Apparently all the sororities today got an e-mail about Derby Days being cancelled and Sigma Chi getting kicked off for a year. This is just what im hearing, but I doubt anyone will be 100% sure until tomorrow or later this weekend as news continues to leak out.

And yeah it's bullshite, means all other Fraternities need to be cancelled. A ton have gotten into trouble recently.

Someone needs to tell that fat frick Sparky to lay the frick off the fraternities if he wants Ole Miss to continue to be popular with high school students.

I doubt this was Sparky's call, he was in a Fraternity here and is usually on our side. Plus I think something big had to have happened for this big of a punishment. I mean this is worse than a couple years ago when KA couldn't do fall rush.

Tell that to the SAEs, who he led a witch hunt against a few years ago.

Honestly, Sparky was always good to me while at Ole Miss, but he needs to start standing up for the fraternal system. He may have changed since I've left, but he definitely wasn't a champion for any fraternity not named Phi Delt.

He picks and chooses his fights. Though he is starting to lose some power, Phi Delt got Ivy League (big spring party) banned this year. So many fraternities are in trouble right now, I just think he has to be careful about defending them.

Isn't your president a former SAE?

Eta: nevermind I think he's a Phi Delt.

What the frick? Is this fricking serious? Ivy League was always the best party of the year. I wasn't even a Phi Delt, but that party was incredibly awesome year after year.

So if Sparky is losing power, what pussy is leading the renewed witch hunt against them? I thought it was bad in my day, but banning Ivy League is ridiculous and a campus tradition.

Yeah I agree, it's crazy. The university as a whole seems to really be cracking down. I don't think they'll go so far as to kick anyone off long term (unless someone pulls a DKE) but the university seems to put up with a lot less. A few years ago they tried to change formal rush but all the fraternities voted against it.

Sorry but I know a bunch of the tools from my hometown are in that frat and I couldn't be happier. Not a fan of Sigma Chi.

I know derby day is canceled but I heard that they were only kicked off of campus for fall semester, with no rush and social probation. Either way that sucks. Groundhog Day was awesome though

This is the reason why they are being douches now.
