Here is what the DM said about it. LINK

quote:

The fraternity has been suspended until the end of the 2013 fall semester.

quote:

Sigma Chi was already on a two-strike probation due to a previous violation of the same policy during the fall semester of 2012.

quote:

Following reinstatement, the fraternity will remain on two-strike probation and social probation through the end of the 2014 spring semester.

So basically they're done until Fall 2014.

Yeah what it sounds like is off campus in the fall, and in the spring they are allowed to have chapter and a few other things but no parties, no late nights, and if they mess up at all they are back off campus. The only positive for them in this is that they will be able to do spring rush, but it'll be interesting to see how many guys they are able to get.

Same here for the most part, but I'm kind of glad to see Sigma Chi get kicked off just so I can see the sororstitutes get all upset about there not being Derby Days.

I cannot believe Sparky is still there. He was a main reason for getting the Beta's booted back in '89. I trying to think of the list of Frats kicked off or no longer there since the 80s

Beta - hazing
KA - hazing
Deke - hazing
Sigma Chi - drunks
Chi Psi - house is gone, do not know what happened???

What others have had issues?

There is nothing more entertaining than watching Sororstitutes get upset. Especially at MSU because our Sororstitutes are just miserable human beings. Seriously, they suck so bad. They are so conformist and methodical it is like they are robots

There really isn't. I was over at the Union today overhearing a few in line talk about how it wasn't fair that Derby Days was getting cancelled because all the sororities had put in so much time and effort for it. I almost 'd

I was talking to a few today at lunch and they were actually all really glad it was canceled. They said they hated it, but I know that's a small percentage of them

I've been dating the same girl throughout college and we're both seniors, so she was bitching at me the other day because I've never went and watched her dance for derby day, and she kept bitching until I finally caved and said I would go watch her this year.

I will admit I loved Derby Days in college. We went all out for that shite every year. However, I went to Memphis, so I can only imagine how much bigger it would be in Oxford.
