BVG quote hat baffles me...

...but seems to echo Heath's comments:
"We're not built with size, strength and power right now," VanGorder said. "And I think that becomes obvious against teams like Georgia. It shows up."
So, who is in charge of at least developing the 2nd and 3rd of those?? Is Yox not doing his job? And then speed: all the recruits from the past 3 years were supposedly best of the best, and fastest of the fast.
So what is he saying?

I would like a chance to recruit players to fit my system and I shouldn't be judged by the quality or lack of quality of our current athletes.

It takes work ethic and discipline to make a S&C program work... Something we don't have under the Chiz.

The players are always out of position, filling the wrong holes, and taking the wrong angles.. This is something that should have gotten better through the year, but they haven't.
If he can't get the D to play any better, he fails as a coach. You can coach kids to play in position, no matter how weak or small they are.

There's no push from the Dline. The LBs get pancaked by the first block. There's no way to evaluate BVG based off of Chizs recruits.

Yox deserves to be fired along with everyone else.They all have done a bad job and that includes him. I don't give a frick what "award" he won five years ago. A fresh start is needed.

bullshite.. Our LBers run themselves out of the play even when they aren't touched.. They break containment 90%+ of the time. I've watched the replays, I'm not seeing the LBers on their backs 90%+ of the time. Now I will agree our DE play has taken a hit because our DTs have no push, but this has nothing to do with LBers making a read and hitting a hole.
THEY'RE PLAYING OUT OF POSITION.

It's absolutely ridiculous. 4th year in, and our players are still undersized and slow. I kept thinking thus everytime one of UGA's freshman running backs plowed slap over our junior and senior DL, LBs and safeties. Just total embarrassment.
But I still don't think teams should running up and down the field like that. At some point, BVG and his staff have to take some accountability. We played great against LSU, and there's no reason for us to be this pathetic on D 10 games in.

well when our safties play LB, our LBs play DE, what can you expect. Bates, Owens, Sanders, etc. Half of our defense is out of position.

I watched the video of the BVG interview. He seemed disappointed, but honest we don't have the horses to play D in the SEC. Seems like he was blaming Chiz without blaming him.
