Top running backs in the SEC...

Here are the top 10 rushers in the SEC, by rushing yards per game:
1 Todd Gurley, Georgia: 68, 536, 9, 7.88, 107.20
2 Mike Gillislee, Florida: 69, 402, 5, 5.83, 100.50
3 Ladarius Perkins, Mississippi St.: 57,389,5, 6.88, 97.25
4 Rajion Neal, Tennessee: 103, 460, 4, 4.47, 92.00
5 Johnny Manziel, Texas A&M: 52, 366, 6, 7.04, 91.50
6 Marcus Lattimore, South Carolina: 92, 440, 8, 4.78, 88.00
7 Keith Marshall, Georgia: 52, 428, 5, 8.23, 85.60
8 Zac Stacy, Vanderbilt : 46, 341, 1, 7.41, 85.25
9 Jeff Scott, Ole Miss: 50, 317, 4, 6.34, 79.25
10 Kendial Lawrence, Missouri: 64,395, 5, 6.17, 79.00
Five observations:
1) Georgia's run game is nasty.
2) The guy at Vandy should get more carries.
3) Lattimore's numbers have been surprisingly mediocre.
4) Manziel is ridiculous.
5) Very surprising that only two backs are averaging over 100/game.

Hey, wait, Where are LSU's RB's? WTF? Todd Gurley wouldn't even play at LSU, I've been hearing.

He is very talented and would probably be the most talented in our backfield, but he wouldnt start. He would get some carries though.

Hard to have one RB in the top 10 when they split carries between 4 of them. That does not take into account R.Shep and CJ Copeland getting carries.
Where do they stand as a unit?

After coming back less that a year from an ACL injury?!!?! What did you expect? He's still better than most of the SEC. Where's Kniles Davis, he had an injury 2 years ago?

Welcome to the SEC...most teams are Pro-Style and rotate in running backs...
LSU will have 5 different running backs in during the game splitting carries. So do a lot of teams in the SEC.
Please look at total rushing stats half way through conference play...you should think things through before bringing them from TexAgs to SECr.

I may be the only one, but as good as Johnny is, I'm disappointed that we're relying on his rushing yards instead of our RBs. Don't get me wrong, we have 3 that are more than capable. But they don't get enough carries to crack this list. I love what we're doing now, but it seems like we're setting ourselves up for a hard fall once Johnny leaves.

He's still an excellent back who is only about 80% back from ACL. I don't doubt Spurrier is saving him some so that he doesn't give out 6 games into the year. Lattimore gets numbers by volume.

Isn't the kid a RS freshman?
Unless you expect him to drop out over the summer or something, you have at least another one or two seasons until you worry about replacing him...

Yes he is. But it seems to me like it would be hard to recruit running backs for a couple years while our offense is being completely run by this one guy. Maybe I'm just looking for something to complain about
