Not to mention this is Lattimore and Shaws 1st season together. Shaw got his start against UK last season, Lattimore got injured the next week meaning this time Lattimore not only shares the load (only a small fraction of it) with Davis and Miles but you also have to account for Shaws 50 rushes for 203 this season (including sacks of course)

Also leads the SEC in combined rushing/receiving yards.

I may be the only one, but as good as Johnny is, I'm disappointed that we're relying on his rushing yards instead of our RBs. Don't get me wrong, we have 3 that are more than capable. But they don't get enough carries to crack this list. I love what we're doing now, but it seems like we're setting ourselves up for a hard fall once Johnny leaves.

This killed our RB recruiting because other schools pointed out that the QB was the main RB.

Maybe Sumlin can overcome this but it will be tough if the current trend continues.

LSU averaging over 6 yards a rush is what I see. I mean, it's no big deal. It's alright. Idk.

roadGator,

Yall seem to have bounced back fairly quickly. Obviously you can't replace a QB like Tebow (hope to mention Manziel in the same way, but we'll see), but it didn't take too long to get someone who is good enough to make the #2 spot on this list.

What worries me about our situation is that yall have changed offensive systems since then. Hoping we don't have to go through the same thing and have to rebuild yet again.

He's a senior that was rarely used prior to this season. He's starting by default really. We haven't really played a good defense yet either.

I'm not convinced that the spread will work long term in the SEC. Your QB takes a heck of a beating eventually with so many rushing attempts.

Obviously it can be done but I'm really glad the spread is gone. The best defenses today eat it up.

Here are the top 10 rushers in the SEC, by rushing yards per game:
Kind of crazy to think Auburn and Alabama don't have a top 10 rusher on the list...

Since 2008, Auburn and Alabama have pretty much dominated that top 10 list. In 2008, Glen Coffee was #2 and Ben Tate was #8. In 2009, Mark Ingram was #1, Ben Tate was #3, and Trent Richardson was #9. In 2010, Cam Newton was #1, Mike Dyer was #5, Mark Ingram was #10, Onterio McCalebb was #12, and Trent Richardson was #14. And in 2011, Trent Richardson was #1 and Mike Dyer was #2.
