I keep reading where you guys think you are going to be good this year, perhaps really good/SECCG good....Honest question, do you really think you closed the very large talent gap from last year? You were not even competitive with Bama or LSU, and it's not like they got worse. I personally think you guys just assume you were very good in 2010, but you lacked talent and coaching then, like you do now....the difference is you had a once in a half century college player that made up for your deficiencies. I just read comments like from TT saying this is an even year, etc....to me, it's about the talent and coaching, and AU falls short there imo. I see a very good year at 8-4...and a great year at 9-3 regular season, with a chance to win a bowl game to go to 10-3......and that is absolute tops.

Maybe not. I think LSU gets better with a QB upgrade. But I would also think AU gets better with a very young team another year older and a real DC.

AU's front 7 was great, as was their OL, I thought. Coach Chizik and team really proved themselves especially in IB coming back from 24 down.

I'm pretty sure he knows this.

Seriously not a troll. I was just curious if the Auburn fans on here actually believe they are good enough to win the West. Personally, they were a LONG ways last year from being competitive with the SEC elite, and just don't understand how they think they are going to make that ground up overnight.

they had a player or two that was good up there...to call the whole unit great is definitely stretching it. Bottom line is that they had cam. No cam, and that team was likely a 3-4 loss team, minimum.

sure they may get better...but you obviously saw how far they had to go. Getting better could mean only losing by 17?

True, but I didn't see the performance jump of LSU 2010 to LSU 2011. Though the 2010 club got 11 wins and finished top 10 they didn't really seem like a top 10 club except in UA and A&M games to me. The 2011 edition was just a whole other level. Chizik did the right thing regarding Roof (much like Miles with Crowton). Personally, I think a 9 - 4 season is a fair bet but who knows.

Well, yes they were a much improved team from 2010 to 2011, but then again, they were pretty darn solid in 2010, and always competitive in every game, losing on the road to auburn by single digits, and then the defensive blunders in the final seconds at half of arky and losing on the road by single digits. They didn't have far to climb to be really good. I think they maintain the defense, if not turn it up a notch, and the qb can only improve for them. Auburn was just blown out of some games last year where they weren't even competitive, and the games they won were by and large against just weaker teams.

Well let's say 2 scores. If LSU and UA are performing at a level the press clippings say they will be...that might be enough for a 10 win season, no?

Lol, nearly lost to UNC's 2nd team and needed Dooley's 13 players on the field to beat Tennessee at home.

That game wasn't close by the 4th quarter, Knile was running it down your throat on every play and we were imposing our will against your D line.

Fact is 2010 LSU was incredibly lucky to be in the Cotton Bowl. Just imagine what would have happened if Dooley didn't put 13 guys out there. Miles would have been on the hot seat for sure.
