it went about how I expected it to, only I didn't think it would get as out of hand as it did. I expected us to play great in the first half, have some success in the passing game (more on that in a sec), and just run out of gas/depth late. We did run out of gas but I didnt' think we would allow so many second half points.

-I'm not saying we should have won, because the CLEARLY better team won, as they should have. So don't think I'm intimating otherwise. But who knows what would have happened if it was 21-0 instead of 10-0? It's a whole new ballgame from there. I don't recall Malcolm dropping a pass all year and he drops a sure TD. Our #1 receiver drops one in the endzone. Those are mistakes you CANNOT make against LSU, and we did. Such is life, oh well. Murray's stat line looks awful, but early on he put us in position to really take advantage and our receivers didn't do it. You can't blame Murray for our first half problems though.
-Our defense was even better in the first half than I thought it would be. When's the last time a 12-0 #1 team in the country was held without a first down for a whole half? Outstanding performance in the first 30 minutes.
-The second half was basically why LSU is where they are and where we are. They have depth out the wazoo and we don't. Our guys got tired, their fresh guys wore us down and just whipped us. I think once LSU took the lead we basically knew it was over and LSU just put it in another gear. Kudos to them.
-The following things have been touched on plenty I'm sure so no need to rehash them in depth. Our running back situation sucks, period. Our special teams suck, period. TM's punt return shouldn't have counted, but I guess with it being that close the ref didn't have enough probable cause to call to stop the game and challenge.

All in all, I can see why LSU is where they are. Extremely solid in all three phases. We aren't there now obviously, but my hope is with a few tweaks next year we can maybe get there. It's gonna take some changes in coaching philosophy and a lot more depth for sure. We've definitely got the schedule and the starting defense. Here's hoping LSU wins their next game by 30 and claims what is rightfully theirs. I'm now a believer. Although I will say that bama will obviously run better than we did, and Jefferson really doesn't strike me as a great QB at all. But LSU is just so good across the board I think they'll take care of business.

I knew LSU would win when Richt threw literally everything he could at LSU and was only up 10-0

Every team that has played LSU so far has said the same thing, that they missed opportunities that caused them to lose the game? Could this be LSU's defense? They seem to thrive on turnovers and intimidation. I believe they have a BIG part in other teams' problems.

Gotta admit I was surprised at the balls he showed early on. And like I said, if our receivers didn't puss out we're looking at being up 21-0 instead of 10-0.

But yeah I thought the same thing. It seemed like EVERYTHING went our way, yet we were only up 10. That was kind of a shitty feeling because deep down I just knew it would fall away eventually.

LSU's defense didn't cause us to drop 2 touchdown passes, for the record. But again I'm not saying we would have won anyway, as yall were clearly the better team.

Your D had ZERO to do with the inability of UGA's receivers to catch an easy pass. Sometimes no one from your defense was any anywhere near the ball. They just had really really bad hands.

I well remember watching LSU make these same stumbles in big games before we became championship caliber and it is maddening to be so close yet so far. At the end of the day that IS the difference between a championship team and one that is not. The better teams doesnt let those opportunities slip through their fingers. That was also the difference between LSU/Bama this year and will be again Jan. 9th.

Not quite. Bama had to eary every single yard against LSU. LSU was suffocating against bama and made them fight for everything they got. That wasn't the case in the first quarter with us, we flat out did it to ourselves. Mitchell's drop was like nobody even covered him. King's drop hit him in the hands in the endzone with the defender behind him. Bama didn't have anything at all like that happen.

UGA (42-10) suffered exact same fate as Florida (41-11) and Tennessee (38-7) against LSU.

The game was officially over when the michelin mascot took his helmet off. This was live action. But it's really just splitting hairs, we still wouldn't have won regardless.

yes he blocked the FG and that's the end of it. I got tired of TN fans whining about the re-kick for taking his helmet off before the play was over.

honey badger took that punt to the house, end of story. boo hoo he didn't cross the line

So desean jacksons returns should all count even when he dropped the ball first?
