One thing puzzled me. Georgia's D collapsed at the start of the second half. I was half expecting them to give way in the fourth period, but I found it odd that it came after the halftime rest.

agreed, especially after hardly being on the field at all...

My question is how were the Georgia receivers so wide open against the greatest secondary in college football history? Busted coverages, double moves, or falls by DBs? Is this something that Bama can exploit?

It's not his fault we dropped 2 touchdowns in the first quarter. If it's 21-0

If it gets to 14-0, then we might have done things differently ourselves...

UGA was its own worst nightmare in the 1st... but I don't think you can look too far beyond ONE touchdown pass, before the time space continuum gets a little out of whack.

But, sleep well knowing you were the better team

You're reading comprehension must rival that of a first grader. Every.single.post I've made in this thread has pointed to the fact that we were beat by a better team, that LSU deserved to win the game, and that they are the best team in the country. But apparently you looked past all that. Go back to the start and read again.

It was obvious to me when the Dawgs came out for the 2nd half they had no energy. They put it all out there in the first half and had nothing left for the second half. That is bad coaching. I've run 3 marathons and you have to run/play smart and pace youself for the long run/game.

i am leaning more toward the abandoning of our aggressive, spread look for a power look with carlton thomas, timid play calling, and just lack of any consistency. what we came out with was great but ditching it in the middle of the 2nd quarter was just awful. it was just like UGA/AU in 2010 but accelerated

And like I said, if our receivers didn't puss out we're looking at being up 21-0 instead of 10-0.

IMO, 10-0 vs 14-0 is more than 4 pts in this atmosphere. Had Georgia been up 14-0 something tells me LSU would have woken up a little sooner.Especially they way they turned it on.

One thing that really gave me hope going in was that we have a better passing game than bama and that is still the case. Murray is better than Mccarron and even though nobody will believe me after Saturday, we have better receivers. But I'm sure Saban will see some stuff on film that we exploited and try to use it, but I don't think your guys will have the opportunities we had (and ultimately pissed away).

I think Georgia's defense plays with more energy if they have the lead. Also, substantial lead affects play calling of both teams. Once Georgia lost the lead, they collapsed, gave in. LSU made their arse quit.

If up 21-0 with no first downs, Georgia has hope far deeper into the ball game. Has to be deflating to a team to play your best half of football and to have it erased in the blink of an eye. I thought Georgia defense gave in after LSU gained the lead.

Why didn't you exploit it the first time?

Sarcasm Dawg. Sarcasm.

My entire post was a dig at Bama fans, not you.

Sarcasm.

Agree. Despite what our players said during the week, I think deep down inside everybody knew that LSU was the better team. Definitely the best team in the country. Once we lost the lead and LSU had all the momentum I think they realized it was just about over.

Good analysis Dawg. Agree with everything you said all the way to jj not being very good. If we had Murray this team would really be something to deal with. Good luck in your Bowl game .

McCarron doesn't set the bar too high as far as QB play is concerned. He has played all year as if he has training wheels still on. I don't think the staff really trusts him. I don't think we beat LSU without taking the leash off him, at least to some degree. We have to be able to make some explosive plays, to make room for our run game. Are they willing to do this, or will it be consevative, field position football? If so, 9-6 might look like a shootout.

Too many ifs to consider. Receivers aren't going to catch every single ball thrown into tight coverage. The throw was there, yes,but its not only the QB making the play. The same can be said for JJ; IF he wouldn't have had the accuracy of a 4 year old we might have gotten something going much sooner. Our defense was on the field for much of the first qtr. so yes you have to expect a few busted plays. The game was ours to lose..and even thats a stretch.

Once the legal herb wore off at half, we were set.

It was a great game. I had a great time. I must say that I met and talked to some really nice UGA fans. I have said on here before that UGA was the worst road experience of my life in terms of treatment by fans, however this weekend was a different experience. The UGA fans were really loud during the 1st quarter. I was sitting in a mixed section....pretty much 50/50 LSU-UGA. As soon as the Honey Badger ran the punt back, the UGA fan behind us said "well, that was fun while it lasted". Seemed odd to me since UGA was still up 10-7 at this point. In talking with them, they seemed to think that their team was "soft" and would not be able to withstand the pounding that the rest of the game was going bring. They were not fans of Crowell and were very critical of his attitude. It was interesting to get the take of opposing team's fans that we don't see every year and to know that they hate Bama just like everyone else. When it was clearly over and they started to exit the Dome, the UGA fans around us were very cordial and all very congratulatory and wished us well in the BCS. Definitely changed my mind about some of the UGA fans.
