Do Florida fans identify with LSU fan's resentment of Saban now?

I'm not here to argue whether the LSU fanbase resentment/dislike/hatred is valid or not, but do Florida fans on this board (not many I know) have a better understanding of how we felt about Saban since the recent events under Urban?

I was just listening to the Van Pelt show and they were discussing Schlabach his conversations with some unhappy people in the program and as I was listening to it, the feelings seemed right in line with LSU fans.

Is that accurate?

It's not really the same situation so I don't see why they should feel similar. If Urban left to coach tennessee then they might feel the same.

Would we be mad if Les went to Michigan? No!

Saban used LSU as leverage to get tons of control at Miami (leaving us hanging) then after he laid a turd in the NFL comes back to coach our rival school.

Meyer's situation is totally different

Well then it would be far worse. But they still feel scorned in all of this and angry at him, despite everything he did for the program and I can understand that.

No resentment. Just a realization that he lied about why he left. Our roster is depleted and he didn't have the intestinal fortitude to stick it out and get it fixed.

But resentment, no. Glad he's gone. He wasn't the same coach.

I think Urban's is worse than Saban.

Saban left LSU for a shot at the big time in the NFL. It didn't work out, and when he came back, he landed at Alabama.

Meyer jumped off a bus whose brakelines had been cut, and basically fabricated an excuse to get out of his contract and wait for a less-competitive, prestigious job to come along.

Meyer's is worse if you ask me.

Don't let ESPN to allow you to believe he's an Ohio St. guy like Miles is a Michigan guy.

Miles actually went to undergrad at Michigan and actually played football at Michigan.

Meyer played at Cinci, went to grad school for like a year at OSU for sports management and was a grad assistant there.

Not even closely the same.

Woody Hayes is his idol. If you are born in Ohio you are a Buckeye. They are weird.

I disagree simply because Florida doesn't have to play Urban every year. Everything you said is true but at least they don't have to see him on the other sideline once a year.

Not to mention Saban's whole "I will not be the head coach at Alabama" bit. I definitely think LSU fans have more of a right to be bitter towards saban than uf fans do meyer.

Still different . Prior to 2000's the rivalry was very lopsided and it wasn't viewed by many as a rivalry, fast forward to the last decade and it was one sided in the other direction. Saban going to Bama made this a rivalry IMO which would be worse than Urban going to TN which has for a long time been a rival

Not really the same situation. It's not like Urban turned around and went to UGA.

With that being said, I do feel like he lied his arse off, and he knew he had tanked the program. He got out before his reputation would be ruined.

Still not even close to the same. Miles played for Bo. Meyer didn't play for Woody. Did he even know him personally at that time? Doubted.

I don't think this matchup has been transformed into a "rivalry". It's become a bigger game in the scheme of the SEC because we're the two best teams. We can quibble over the term "rivalry" all day but quite simply, I could care less if we're a rival or not. It's a big game, period, because of the circumstances. Just like many others.

Ask Ohio folks about their obsession with OSU.

He's a buckeye dude. We don't care that he left. We only care about the bad shape he left us in. I don't really care about the lying any more. He could have found a way to make work and family balance. Good for him.
