He's a buckeye dude. We don't care that he left. We only care about the bad shape he left us in. I don't really care about the lying any more. He could have found a way to make work and family balance. Good for him.

He's a bearcat in my mind. I understand where you're coming from and I have no doubt that he's probably an OSU fan but comparing the situation to Miles and Bo at Michigan is misplaced.

Who compared the two? It wasn't me.

I bet he's not in his mind.

WG - I think we keep it closer than that. Our D has stepped it up some.

Fair enough. The context of your first post threw me off a bit.

I disagree simply because Florida doesn't have to play Urban every year. Everything you said is true but at least they don't have to see him on the other sideline once a year.

I feel like ESPN's love-crush on OSU and Meyer shores that difference up pretty closely.

Not to mention Saban's whole "I will not be the head coach at Alabama" bit. I definitely think LSU fans have more of a right to be bitter towards saban than uf fans do meyer.

That's true, but he said that while he was in the pros. I just don't think you can take it personally when a coach leaves you for the NFL, because that's his career ambition. It just so happens that Saban came back to college and ended up in their division.

But when you put a coach in charge of taking care of your program, and then he lets it crash and burn while getting off scott-free, then takes another job at the same level of football without any buffer between, I think it's much more personal.

Saban didn't leave LSU in the same shape that Meyer left Florida, and at least had justifiable NFL ambition to credit for leaving in the first place.

Seemed like you were supporting what the other guy said concerning Miles/Michigan and Meyer/OSU.

Did urban have a legitimate medical issue? I honestly don't know the answer. Seems to me he just hit the eject button.

I don't see it as the same either. It has to be a bob stoops to Texas kind of switch to be comparable. Spurrier taking an in divison rival after crying at the podium that he's always be a gator (or tiger as saban said) would be comparable.

Les was born in Ohio and went to Michigan. Just another goofy attribute to 'the hat'

Made no comparison and didn't intend one. His book mentions his love for Woody and OSU.

He is indeed an OSU grad (grad school). He is a buckeye at heart. His love for ND comes from being Catholic. He has way too many favorite teams. He claimed to be a Gator for life during the presser.

How many LSU fans have watched "Gamechanger?" I really don't see how any reasonable person could really fault Saban for what he did or said. He'd still be at LSU if he hadn't wanted to try the NFL.

Meyer, meh. Whatever. He's obviously just a pussy.

I know he went to grad school there, I stated it already in the first page.

Claiming this many favorite teams waters it down a bit if you ask me.

What about arguing the validity of our feelings towards Saban not being the issue in the first post did you misunderstand?

Yes, esophogeal spasms which have can feel like a MCI. Stress related in his case case apparently. A guy I used to work with had them and he thought he was having an MCI.

More than just went. Graduated. He is a buckeye.

Your question has been answered but you got answers from sane Gators. Check out Swampgas if you want to find folks who resent him.

Oh I know. I just don't consider grad school as being indicative of being one with that school. I've been to grad school, and most of the kids there already had their team firmly established, and didn't just adopt the school once they started attending their for grad school unless they were terrible to begin with.

Sorry I'm just not buying that he's an OSU guy because you can't have this many "favorite" teams.

Honest question: When did Alabama become y'alls rival?

I agree with all of your points. Plus, I've always thought Urban was giant douche anyways.

WHY do you have UGA as your favorite team? Did you lose a bet or something?

Then, i think I'd have made the same decision. Inter-division coaching job with tears and love for the school you're leaving is the only thing I see as comparable. Extra special if said coach makes disparaging comments off mike after landing.
