If it is all true, I don't want Auburn to get the death penalty.

I'm sure some people would love to see them gone, but although I can't stand Auburn, I enjoy LSU playing them every year, especially when LSU wins. And I think the Auburn-Alabama game is the best rivalry in football. I wouldn't mind probation for them, but definitely would be disappointed if they got more than that. (again, if it is all true with Cam)

I wouldn't want them to get the death penalty...

But I would want them to suffer from severe penalties.

The NCAA said they will not give any program the death penalty anymore.

If so, the term "death penalty" needs to be "vacated".

I dont want them to get the death penalty either. That said the arrogance in continuing to play cam is mind boggling. If they mess up the national championship game and the heisman race then I think they should get the death penalty.

This won't happen. They won't kill the ENTIRE athletic program just because of the football team.

ANY SEC school receiving the death penalty would be detrimental to the entire league, just as the SMU affair in the 80's proved to be a huge negative on the national perception of the old SWC.

Don't think we'll ever see the Death Penalty again, at least not the one that brought SMU down. The program STILL hasn't recovered and that was about 20-30 years ago.

I dont. I just want them weak enough for LSU to beat them every year, but strong enough to win a few SEC games every year. (LOL)

Can someone define "death penalty" for me as in what has happened in the past? Sorry if I should know this but I typically keep up with my LSU and that is about it until the past few years.

Have they ever really cut the entire athletic dept ... and can someone briefly tell me what happened at SMU???

What were some of the powerhouse schools in the SWC at the time? The SEC has had the past for national champions. SEC wouldn't suffer nearly that much.

SMU wasn't allowed to field a team one year and the next year they didn't play because they were only allowed to play road games or something like that. If Auburn were to get it, they would basically be done with competitive football.

SMU was cheating much more than Auburn has been. They paid a ton of players, got caught multiple times, and then kept paying them. To get the death penalty, Auburn's athletic department would need to be found guilty of buying the entire roster, and probably more.

Just say that that would happen to AU ... the schedules for the next year (or whatever) would be way screwed up ... no more 12 teams/6 in each div. That would suck ...

That said, if some wrong doings are found they should be held accountable ... no matter who it is.
