Didn't once have allegations of cheating that I can remember. TT refused to allow Pat Dye and other supporters to be close to his program, in fact Dye said when AU hired CGC that he finally felt "welcome" in the complex again.

Since CGC and staff have been at AU, Dye has been a regular fixture in the football complex the past 18 months.

IMO, Tubs demanded that AU run a clean program and he knew how to keep the wolves out of the chicken coop.

Running off Tubs to hire Chizik won't go down as one of the brighter moves in sports history.

I met Tubs in 2007 when they were in ATL for the Peach Bowl. He's a cool little fricker. I always thought he was a smug, whiny little turd. Very nice and outgoing.

i don't understand. He had a NC team, beat saban at lsu every other year and had hard hitting physical defenses and run game epitomized the sec.

He had a great run. Knee jerk reaction to saban

although I still dislike him for the cigar game, I think Tubs was still a respectable coach

no, but some bama fans did make up some shite about caddy being paid, but i'm friends with someone who grew up with him and he said if he was paid, then why was his mom always having to take a bus to see him play the games and broke as frick...

I think that's one reason Tubberville and Bobby Lowder never got along.

I don't think so - I think he probably feels disappointed for the university that he dedicated 10 yrs of his life to. I believe Tubs was an honest man and tried to do the right thing. I don't think he would hold a grudge, especially after he walked away from AU with over $4mm.....

I'm gonna miss Tubs. I used to like Auburn, cigar game and chop-block notwithstanding. Dude was perfect for the SEC.

Excatly - There were many Auburn MEN that didn't get along with Tubs. And, therefore they tried to oust him - All Tubs did was turn the other cheek and give AU an undefeated season in which they should have made it to the big game. Tubs proved to Lowder/Dye and the cronies that he could win without their help. IMHO
