The stats (so far):
Both were expected to have great years, and both had undesirable seasons.
Eli:
279-481, 58%, 3401 yards, 21 Tds, 15 INTs, 125.57 pass efficiency
Jevan:
178-328, 54.3%, 2464 yards, 20 TDs, 17 INTs. 127.13 pass efficiency
Records:
Eli: 6-6
Jevan: 8-4
Eli threw 12 INTs in 6 SEC games to end the regular season including 10 in a 5 game losing streak:
1 INT in loss to Bama 7-42
2 INT in loss to Ark 28-48
3 INT in loss to Aub 24-31
2 INT in loss to UGA 17-31 (one pick six)
2 INT in loss to LSU 13-14 (second INT set up GW TD)
Jevan threw 9 INTs in 4 SEC losses.
0 vs USC 10-16
4 vs Bama 3-22
2 vs Aub 20-33
3 vs MSU 27-41
Outside help:
O-line: Eli
WRs: Jevan
RBs: Jevan (counting McCluster, though that takes away from his WRs)
QB Coaching: Eli (Cutcliffe was good QB coach)
I know it sounds ridiculous to a lot of people, but I think Snead could bounce back and have a good senior year. Even Colt McCoy went through a second year-slump in which he threw 18 INTs.

Yeah, but Snead has also had some tipped passes by WRs for INTs against other teams.
Ole Miss vs South Carolina - The ultimate game between historically unlucky teams.

And I'm sure you factored in all the variable differnces between the 2 years like..........talent of teammates at the time.
You think there might be a reason that Eli had so many more pass attempts?

Yes I did. Did you see where I said Eli had a better O-line, but Jevan had better WRs and RBs, and Eli an edge at coaching?

And I completely agree with this. Chris Collins set OM records and never sniffed the NFL. Eli made his WR's look good.

Jevan played on a team that was a pre-season pick to compete for the SEC championship.
Jevan had an entire freshman year as a starter under his belt.
Jevan had McCluster.
When Jevan showed a propensity for happy feet and bad passes, OM shifted to primarily a run first game, and limited his passing attempts due to his own ineptitude.
Eli - not so much.

Jevan's Ole Miss team >>>>>>> Eli's Ole Miss team

Jevan had an absolutely terrible OLine this year by SEC standards.
No time in the pocket = happy feet, bad passes.
Eli had a great OLine that allowed him plenty of time to pass.

Just judging offenses. Like OP said, Jevan had better run game and WR's(slightly, I'd say push with Dex at RB). But Eli had an excellent OLine.
Terrance Metcalf >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Bradley Sowell(so far, anyways)

To further this point as bullshite.
Eli spent an entire 2 years more than Jevan learning his offense from his coach.
Eli spent his RS and RS Fr year under Cut where Jevan spent his Fr year at Texas and his RS year under Orgeron before Nutt and & Co. joining the team.
ETA: Basically, Eli had 2 years to learn the offense and Jevan had to learn 3 different offenses before taking the field.

I'm not trying to flame, and I know that the OM fans know more about the 2 teams than I do. But speaking as an outside observer of both, Eli seemed to be a much better quarterback at this stage in his career. He made everyone around him better, and other teams planned their defense around stopping him.
IMO, just comparing stats between the 2 years does not tell the whole story.

You're only as good as your Offensive Line. Look at the Giants this year, Eli's running for his life behind the worn out OLine.

You could also argue Eli had comparable WRs. McCluster can catch out of the bakfield, but when we've need 10 yards how often have you seen McCluster be a reliable downfield receiver. He's just too small.
Hodge > Collins
Flowers > Markeith "I just tipped the ball to the other team" Summers
Espy > Breaux
Hodge > Collins

Espy > Breaux

I would say....
Taye "I drop wide-arse-open TD's" Biddle = Markeith "I just tipped the ball to the other team" Summers

You're right, but I'm not saying that Jevan > Eli. I'm just saying that he can bounce back next year, and he's still a good QB. Eli had a one of the best QB coaches in the game. Didn't Cutcliffe get Duke's QB to be All-ACC?
