We have a guy who is a nationally recognized and respected sportswriter living in Oxford who is an Ole Miss season ticket holder, and our fans would rather shite all over him for producing a documentary that the rest of the country has mostly forgotten about already.
This is why we can't have nice things.
He added a less than credible story to end his documentary about how there is still racism at Ole Miss. Like it's not at EVERY other school in the nation.

I think It's generally accepted that racism is still a problem almost everywhere in America. Either that or denied.

We're under the microscope though when it comes to it though. Like I said. He could have ended it talking about how much different the university and culture are, but he decided to add a "he said she said" story about someone calling the ASB president a racial slur.

The thing is that every time racism in the South brought up we somehow have to be mentioned whether we're involved directly or not. The rest of the SEC loves it too because they get to keep pretending like Ole Miss is the only place this happens.
Where's the documentary covering race relations in Alabama following the sorority chick getting the axe for her racist comments?
Like POCKET said, there was opportunity to shed some light on the strides that have been made and the ball was dropped.
I digress... The reason I don't like Thompson is because he comes across as a self-serving, fedora-wearing douche bag. He's the bow tie wearing prick in the grove that we all get lumped in with, and he has a particularly punchable face. I wish someone would act on that.

No really a he said she said. It was a most definitely he said kinda story.
I shared majors with the guy that did it and had MANY classes with him and it was something we all knew happened very first hand.
It's stupid to deny something that happened and get mad when someone reports it.

Less than credible story added for his own fat national credibility.

Almost certainly. Although we do have former students who are married to celebrities.
Charlie Day and Dennis Quaid come to mind.

Tell us, what were the inaccuracies? I thought he gave a factual account, no matter how much it hurts.
I didn't know the legislature was going to vote to close Ole Miss, but the football team's good record kept them from doing so.

It was the past. Let it live in the past with the rest of history. The people that were alive back then are fewer and fewer yet we are prosecuted for it in the court of public opinion every time it is brought up. Just let that awful shite die.

I certainly don't want it to be Thompson but I don't want it to be someone obvious like Shep or Archie either. It will more than likely be one of those 3 though.

I will take that bet.
Even though celebrity guest pickers are not always celebrities, Wright Thompson is as unknown to most people as is my local Kroger bag boy.
No chance that clown will be our picker.

He'd be familiar to pretty much anyone who watched the World Cup... Which was a lot of fricking people. Doubt Archie would do it because he's on the committee. Gotta be shep

As much as I disagree with his viewpoints, the dude is an insanely talented writer.
And he rustles jimmies to the max.
