I havent thought about it, but Weathersby is a very solid candidate for the Saturday role. Besides Trent, he was our most dominate pitcher since April.

that statement alone leads to a number of red flags with that girl.

....which means she's right up my alley.

Short or Tarkington. Possibly Buchanan if he can learn some control an if he comes back. There are two JC arms coming in too that you can never tell how effective they will be. I'd assume Evan Anderson would become the 4th starter if he didnt get the Saturday gig, but if his arm is too valuable to not have on weekends he could be a candidate for the closing spot too. I really think our pitching as a whole will be at least as good as it was this year. Just need that progression that we got with Laxer and Greenwood from last year to this year in a couple kids.

it isn't control thats the problem. It's his mid-90's fastball that has absolutely no movement on it.

And the new balls aren't going to make things much better for him.

I think it's safe to say Buchanan has more than just one problem. Control, movement, and consistency of off speed pitches have all been problems

I'm glad weathersby looks to be coming back. I'd like to see his and smith's roles switched

He's had an interesting career. Pitched and played the field for tupelo and wasn't great at either. ICC initially didn't offer. NE offerred at an open tryout and then ICC did last minute as a pitcher. Went to ICC and instantly became the starting SS on a very good ICC team. Came here as an invited walkon and I think as a pitcher. But started off at second base here. Injuries derail him and becomes a utility player. Now signs as a pitcher

This seems a lot like the same situation with Darryl Norris last year.

Played 3B the majority of his career and had some knee issues. Out of nowhere the Detroit Tigers draft him as a pitcher.

Definitely a head scratcher.
