I thought the first throw in that video was Buchanan for a second.

In fairness to RB, that was a pass that required some touch rather than just gunning it there.

I don't think that video provided enough evidence to really make a judgment call on Ryan Buchanan's arm strength.

Anyone finding any more?

It floated a bit to me....I just think that throws toward the sideline should be on a tight spiral....too much air and the DB can recover.

Man Kelly sure does look the part as far as his arm is concerned.

You got a video of Kelly throwing the ball?

I'm not a Rivals subscriber.

Mettenberger.

I've never heard my brother refer to him other than "that hamburger guy."

I know the knock on RB is his (supposedly) weak arm. But he's accurate. If we end up with Bo 2.0 -- like Bo, but with better decision making -- we'll be in good shape.

This is the the thing though.....everyone of Donte and Laquon's scouting reports mentioned or alluded to having a quarterback who was inconsistent with a limited arm....I just don't think you can dink and dunk 100% of the time in the SEC.

Alabama did it under McElwain for a bit but they did have stud RBs and a stellar OL to rely on.

Anyone else aware of a successful West Coast scheme run in the SEC?

It could be said that Spurrier now runs a West Coast scheme but he had Lattimore and Mike Davis to rely on.

I am seeing a common denominator.

All the offenses under Saban at Alabama outside of last year were very heavy run with the threat of play action deep balls. McElroy and McCaron were both good at reading when the defense was creeping up and beating them over the top. Bo didn't have the arm strength to take the top off of a defense. That is why either RB or CK both have an advantage on Bo because they bring that option to the table. But Bo was battle tested and had some gutsy performances in pressure situations (LSU '13 and Bama '14) that will be hard to recreate. That's the part of this competition that we won't see. We all know that CK has the better set of tools but who can actually read the defense, make adjustments at the line to get us in the right play and move the chains? It may not be who has the best tools. We may not actually know until the first real game. That is why I doubt Freeze names a starter until at least the Monday of week 2.

I could honestly see us "not officially" naming a starting until right before bama or even going into bama without an official starter. But I feel like by bama the decision will be made. Just make them have to consider one more variable.
