Phewwww I’m glad people pay for this hard hitting insight.

To be honest, none of our pay sites are worth the money. I'm not sure any colleges pay sight is worth the money. Anything big is free public information anyways.

For all his supposed (but mostly imagined by idiot Bama fans) faults, I’m of the opinion that Golding would be a fricking slam dunk hire for us in every way.

Absolutely no complaints with this hire

He followed up Kirby Smart. And Bama fans watching Kirby win titles at Georgia has made them compare the two even more. They fail to realize Kirby got torched on more than one occasion at Alabama as DC. They act like they were completely flawless with him running the defense. Golding isn’t Kirby but he’s arguably the best DC in the SEC right now

While also acting like their likely hire of Jim Leonhard also didn't get scorched multiple times per season as DC of Wisconsin...

I bet Leonhard goes back to the NFL.

Actually, Pruitt was between Smart and Golding as Alabama DC. Both had better numbers than Golding has, but it's not really a fair comparison. The game has changed in the last few years. No one is allowing 8 ppg like Alabama did in 2011.

Sounds like it’s a done deal. Great hire in my opinion.

It’s a damn good hire. This article highlights a lot of why Bama’s criticisms of Golding are misguided:

I think the talent differential is what bailed Golding out a lot and made him look better than he actually is.

But at this point anything is better than Partridge. So we shall see.

True

Nothing but first round picks and 5 stars can really coverup coaching deficiencies

We’ll see how it goes

At least kiffin made a change. Can’t be worse.

Completely agree and add that neither Kirby nor JP had to deal with BoB’s anemic offense which plays a huge role in how much a D is on the field and what field position they are facing. It is easier to play lights out D when you are ahead comfortably and the opponent is swinging for the fences or if you are staring Defensive stands on the opponents 25 yard line post kickoff vs going 3 & out and punting to midfield.

On the other side of things he did drop his best pass rushers into coverage and use delayed blitzes which enabled teams to convert 3rd and longs (which is the biggest gripe of uninformed Bama fans….which tend to be a vast majority of them).

At the end of the day, I'm of the opinion that this is a home-run hire for us and we now have a top 10 DC in CFB.

Should help recruiting on that side of the ball substantially and we should (hopefully) finally drop this 3-3-5 defense.

Having been an Ole Miss fan on this earth for 40 years, I have yet to hear of a new hire that isn’t good at recruiting. Do we have anything that’s not fluff regarding his recruiting abilities? I guess worst case scenario is he has Bama’s portal target list he can call down, which has to be better than whatever the frick we’re working with.

Bama has a long list of 2nd string back-ups. I'm sure there are plenty of those guys who signed on to play for him and would love to get off the kickoff team.

He’s been a DC under Nick Saban for 6 years. I’m sure he’s gleaned some valuable knowledge.

Wes Neighbors is the new Safeties coach.

He currently has the position Maryland. Was also the Safeties coach at FAU in 2018 under Kiffin.

Played at Bama back in the day.

Can't believe a Landmass fan would say such a thing. It often can and does get worse quite frequently.
