I wonder if Freeze gives Dameyune Craig a call. Top 10 recruiter and has some experience as an OC. I wouldn't mind Kiffin grooming Craig for one year and giving it to him when Kiffin leaves LSU (assuming this happens).

Want to melt?

The rumor among the recruiting site admins is Coach O is interested in Werner as his OC

that's just our fans perpetuating their O hire melt.

LSU can offer 1.5 or more to anyone. I'm pissed LSU hired O too, but let's stay rational and safely assume Werner isn't even going to get a call from LSU.

O may very well be a moron, but when guys like Helfrich have reached out to LSU, he's not going to pass on them for Werner

Oh I agree with you. I just thought it was funny it's being brought up.

I really hope it isn't lackluster. I also hope they announce him this evening so the guy can start recruiting.

I just don't like LSU sitting on the sidelines waiting on Kiffin to decide. It's pretty obvious that LSU would only get Kiffin for what, one season?

Helfrich is someone who could be a life coordinator after his Oregon time. He could make 2 a year at LSU if he's worth it. Just seems like a no brainer.

I have to admit that surrounding O with 2 mad geniuses in Aranda and Helfrich is just crazy enough to work

Damn, Helfrich and Aranda is frightening.

Also, I hope Freeze let's go of the offensive reigns, because Werner was actually not that bad, it was my impression that Freeze was the one who called all the most ridiculous and failed plays, especially in the red zone.

I still have no idea who so many people, in multiple fan bases, want him. He was absolutely terrible as OC at Colorado, and at Oregon Chip ran the offense.

Yeah, I was just looking at his resume earlier. I wonder how many times a Broyles Award finalist was fired the next season? He's in elite company there.

You're probably dead on about Freeze. Les fired Strudawa, and all of our fans laughed at how incompetent Stud was at LSU, and he was what was holding us back! Now Stud is Ohio State's OL coach, killing it he was just leslie's sacrificial lamb

I think Helfrich actually had a nice last season at CU. He was one more season from fully turning it around.

Lots of coaches are great coordinators but horrible head coaches. Chip Kelly is a total prick with no previous ties to Helfrich. He doesn't just throw out random glowing endorsements of coaches. If Chip thinks Helfrich is a brilliant offensive mind, then he more than likely is

I think Freeze got in Werners way more than Werner got in the offenses way. Either way, this is a chance to get a true brilliant offensive mind to do things and also tell Freeze to focus on recruiting and sunday school for the players. Let the new guy handle the offense.

Why not Steve Sarkisian?

If Kiffin leaves, isn't Sark the OC in waiting?

I've seen Chip Long (Memphis OC), Kendal Briles (Baylor OC), Sterling Gilbert (Texas OC), Matt Lubick (Oregon WR Coach)

and 247 said it was none of them. But he's been wrong in the recent past about a lot so...

I really hope he's on LSU's list too. I'd take him over young briles

There are reports stating he might not be the guy at Bama. Sarkisian that is.

Didn't the texas offense suck this year? I watched them at Cal and was unimpressed.

Whoever it is, I hope Freeze stops calling the red-zone and 4th down plays.
