This team needs someone young, high energy and knowledgeable. Allen has all of those quality's. Hell I would almost rather have Paul Jackson coaching them than boring arse Wommack.

I gave a guy a shot who I've been friends with for years, and know his family personally. He was in sales and was honestly putting in 100 hours a week while barely surviving off a draw. He was all-in. Unfortunately, he didn't have the numbers and just couldn't close. I let him go last Thursday and it was brutal. The hardest part of the conversation was explaining that effort is not the same as results. I know first hand what it's like to have a grown man cry and ask how he's going to feed his family next week, it rips your soul apart, but business is business and not a charity.

Re: Not a good CEO comment. I can't argue with what you said and a great point. A good CEO would have the balls to cut the dead weight. At the end of the day, Freeze needs to think what's the best for his job and family. That's hiring a staff that can push him to the next level. Nobody wants to be like Cutcliffe and let their livelihood go down due to their friendships and loyalty.

So this NCAA shite had been over Freeze ever since he got here, pretty much.

I wonder if that has anything to do with why we can't let anyone go. Who the hell would come to our program right now?

That's a good point. Any dismissals would be spun by the media as us admitting guilt and letting them go for reasons other than job performance. Getting new coaches- money talks. We can make it happen. If we can convince smart kids like Patterson that the NCAA cluster frick isn't a big deal, we can do the same to a top coach and add the big check as a cherry on top.

We can do that and I believe our boosters will be all in with that, but it all goes back to the point of Freeze not wanting to hurt feelings. Someone has to go to him, whether it's admin, boosters, or players and convince him that it's time to let go. He can do it in a way to not hurt Wommack, there's ways, but it needs to be done.
We've been through the "friendly" process before and it doesn't go well. We've got to get someone in here that has a fire lit under them that transfers to the players and preparation.

I can see your point with some of this, however, letting Wommack go would not put his life or family in a financial strain because with the money these guys make they definitely should not be living check to check. In fact, Wommack would probably never have to hit another lick at a snake. He could just move to south Florida and fish and play golf. Yes, Freeze does need to be that type CEO and make the tough decisions.

The question is would Sabah hesitate to cut dead weight. Just in the past 6 months he showed he'd move on from a coach rather than expose his program to "injury". Granted the guy got a nice severance for falling on his sword.

My melt was to spend an hour working on my 100 lbs heavy bag & jumping rope in the garage. I highly suggest it to all other frustrated fans. I will admit my knuckles look like fresh ground chuck and my calves are screaming. However, every time I move my hands or take a step today I feel pain and it takes my mind off the replay of dropped passes and missed tackles. Works perfectly

Yeah my post wasn't specific to Womack. He could retire comfortably, step down and take a lesser role, etc. I was talking about more of a clean sweep and overall upgrade to the many holes in our staff. Before it's said, yes I'm still melting and this is an over exaggerated knee jerk reaction and I'm ok with that.

I like to win as much as anybody but people are losing a little bit of perspective. Could the D be better coached? I guess. But look at the youth and inexperience for a lot of our LBs and secondary and I think we can agree that there is more to it than just coaching and scheming.

As far as the people that have been blasting Freeze, we have never had it this good and people need to keep things in perspective.

a clean sweep

This would be nice all the way across the board. Especially after the NCAA gets done with us.

Anyone "blasting Freeze" on anything than hold his subordinates accountable is suffering a nuclear implosion level of melt

And on a different note I just walked up 3 flights of stairs prior to posting this...it hurts so good!!!

Without a doubt.

Completely agree, however, why hold your team back when you can have it doing better. The fact is, Freeze's goal is to get us to Atlanta. He probably won't be able to do that unless he is willing to find the best coaching talent available to us.

We're not holding him to unreasonable standard when he stated his goal is to get to the SEC championship.

I just don't think the talent/experience is there this year, on the Defensive side. It should play better next year.

Wommack is now splitting LB duties with a defensive assistant Christian Robinson. Dave gets the stingers and Robinson gets the MLBs.

And so it begins. The final countdown for wommack.

Perhaps. I still think Wommack has done good things for our program during our tenure, even if not always great.

Strongly disagree. He consistently sacrifices his body. The dude will sit in the pocket and take massive hit as well as put his head down and take a big hit when he's going for a 1st.

What makes you say that?
