Or that. Honestly it wouldn't surprise me if they build a mega parking garage there if they tear it down. Are they planning on demolishing it?

If they do, they should auction off the rights to press the button on the dynamite.

IDK if that's the plan. It would be a convenient location for sporting events and student parking though.

The plan is to demolish it and make it a green space of some sort. My guess is they make it a quad and put in a small pond, like you see on Sorority Row.

Really that doesn't sound like a bad idea. A nice park/pond type area is something I've always wanted to see somewhere on campus and that's a perfect spot for it. And knowing our administration and how they are about landscaping, it would look amazing.

I mean, it's one of the main reasons our campus is considered one of the most beautiful in the country.

Tad Smith is sitting on some prime real estate. I doubt they build a parking garage there.

However, half of the point of my original post is not discussed... why is our athletic department being so secretive? There's not any buzz around the program at all and I think that is a real problem.

I guess people don't use their private jets as much as I do

ETA: Yeah, they're making some progress. I really think the arena is going to make the stadium look much better. The renovations to VHS will also help, but that side of campus is going to look to sexy.

I almost wish the baseball field was located where our practice field is. I feel like that would be a cool visiual to have all 3 right there together. But I agree the arena is gonna make everything look

Then we couldn't drink tons of Natty Light and it would take longer to stumble to the Square.

One of my favorite things about OM is being able to leave the outfield at Swayze and stumble to the Square.

It used to be located where the Turner Center is.

But... I've had trouble finding info. Here are a few links that I look at occasionally to see the progress:

Lots of info on current/future projects and also has updates on road closures and whatnot:

Live Cameras on the Parking Garage construction:

from Turner Center
from the stadium

Ole Miss' Flickr account occasionally posts a few photos of construction going on:
