I know our arena won't be the absolute best in the nation, but I think the Pavilion will be a really nice addition to our campus. The only major athletic construction needed is redoing the Rebel Club, expanding the press box, adding new and better lighting, and improving the plaza area outside the north end zone.

Besides closing in the NEZ, of course.

Also, bricking in the entire stadium (picture #1 below) rather than the strange columns we're going to add (picture #2 below).

VHS is going to be really weird after this expansion seeing as all 4 sides will look completely different

I'd support a major exterior overhaul post-NEZ expansion.

Brick it in similar to Doak Campbell Stadium.

This would likely cost a metric frickton of money, but would make the exterior of the stadium look

Or maybe even match The Pavilion's "column theme" with the exterior of the stadium?

The Pavilion's columns look pretty cool, you can combine the brick and the columns to make it look southern and whatnot.

Absolutely. This is a great idea, IMO.

Hell, the Lyceum columns are in our official crest anyways.

With the basketball arena now having pillars that makes pretty much every building on campus have pillars might as well do it to the football stadium too. But like you said that's going to cost a ton of money to do a massive overhaul and at the rate the university is growing (and if we can keep the football success going) were going to need to expand VHS again which will either be destroying our academic buildings below the NEZ or building an upper deck.

The Pavilion has mostly brick columns and some ivory, Lyceum-style columns. I'd support this for VHS as well, likely putting up Lyceum-style columns under the scoreboard where the majority of students will enter the stadium.

Here are my priorities for VHS:
1) Closing in NEZ
2) Bricking exterior/making exterior "classic" looking and COMPLETELY SYMMETRICAL
3) If needed (which I doubt), tear down the Rebel Club and build an upper deck while keeping the suites under the upper deck like Alabama, perhaps

Me too.

We could put white columns under the scoreboard where the students will enter the stadium and then put brick columns around the rest of the stadium to match The Pavilion.

Anyone got any pictures of stadium exteriors they'd like to share maybe to provide some examples?

I would like an upper deck just to put opposing fans in a thin line at the very top with no bathrooms or concessions

Funny how they used the mirror image of the south endzone to get all that money for the project. Then switched to the brick verson, now the version where it looks like it is going to collapse on one end because of no support.

It looks like those are intended to match the SEZ exterior.

We need to have the south endzone look in the north end zone.

No one ever sees the south end zone. Everyone shows the stadium from the grove side.
