Alright I'm having some friendly banter between friends right now and we're trying to decide what is normal.
Is it normal to pee with just your zipper being opened, and dong comes outs.
Or is it normal to unbutton your pants, undo the zipper, and then the dong comes out.
FWIW I'm option one.

Well, I think most normal men just unzip. Of course, your friend's junk may not be long enough to just unzip so that may be why he unbuttons his pants like a little kid.

Public restroom in a urinal or at home?
Public urinal is #1 because I'm an adult that isn't socially retarded.
If I'm at home with pants the have a zipper then it means that I literally just got home and the pants are coming completely off because I'm about to change into gym shorts anyway.

I prefer option 1, but I've switched my skivvies to boxer briefs with no flap so I've had to go to option 2.

I unbutton, but that's because at some point, I learned a trick. If you press up under your boys after you're done, it's much more effective than the simple "shake" to prevent piss dribbles.
