Honestly, when you look at the resumes and credentials of the two guys running, it's pathetically sad this is even a race. Even sadder that the guy with the worse resume and credentials is likely to win.

It still amazes me that everyone piled on Strange for being “dirty” and just dismissed every allegation against Moore.

Look at this new story today. Further proves that the Foundation for Moral Law was nothing but a vehicle for Moore to line his pockets, the pockets of his family, and to promote himself.

LINK

quote:

But privately, Moore had arranged to receive a salary of $180,000 a year for part-time work at the Foundation for Moral Law, internal charity documents show. He collected more than $1 million as president from 2007 to 2012, compensation that far surpassed what the group disclosed in its public tax filings most of those years.

quote:

An Internal Revenue Service audit of the Foundation for Moral Law’s 2013 finances, provided by the charity, concluded that it left out information about fundraising and other activities on its public tax filings and also identified discrepancies between those filings and its internal books. The IRS wrote that the issues “could jeopardize your exempt status.” Seven charity and tax law specialists consulted by The Post said the nonprofit’s activities raised questions about compliance with IRS rules, including prohibitions on the use of a charity for the private benefit or enrichment of an individual.

Well, Strange just kind of sat back and allowed them to do that without defending himself. As bad as Hillary's Presidential campaign was, Strange's Senate campaign was even worse.

And none of that stuff on Moore matters to his loyal base. He has the same teflon Trump has with his most ardent supporters. The ends justify the means with them.

I'm sorry, I am not capable of pulling the lever for someone with a "D" beside their name. If you're a Democrat, you have to support the DNC and the platform. Have you seen Doug Jones' commercials? He's trying to portray himself as a moderate, who's disappointed with both parties. Heck, he doesn't even mention he's a Democrat, and the word Democrat doesn't even appear in print anywhere in his ads; not even the letter "D" next to his name. A vote for Jones is a vote for the neo-prog party, and their agenda; he'll vote lock-step with them. Refraining from voting is a vote for the prog agenda. As much as I wish I had a better choice, I'll hold my nose and vote for Moore.

So you know that Moore is a terrible choice, yet you still won’t vote for a guy simply because he has a D next to his name. Even if he is the better qualified candidate.

You literally just proved my quote right.

Nowhere in my post did I say I thought Jones was better qualified, but I can see that the overall tone may have implied this.
I would vote for an (I)ndependent over an unqualified Republican, but if a candidate chooses to keep that (D) beside their name, he has to support the DNC and the platform; a platform that calls for bigger government, more taxes, expansion of the welfare state, open borders, abortion, etc.

I cannot vote for any candidate supporting these positions.

Are you under the impression that republicans are for a smaller government?

Was thinking republics generally favor less government intrusion into our lives.

That's what I meant by smaller government.

You mean laws? I AM in favor of law and order.

Not a fan of chaos.

Then Moore seems an odd candidate to throw your support behind considering he was removed from the bench once and suspended without pay and forced into resignation a second time "for demonstrated unwillingness to follow clear law" which was characterized as “contrary to clear and determined law about which there is no confusion or unsettled question”. LINK

If you're aware of that it doesn't sound like you are in favor of "law and order". It sounds like you are only in favor of "law and order" that reflect your personal politics.

Look, I don't agree with everything Moore espouses, but I can find NO common ground with the prog agenda.

Hey, if you admit it I have no problem with it but it's disingenuous to cloak it up as being a supporter of law and order. You like Roy for whatever reason, great, more power to you, but it's not because you believe in the law.

Based on your posts in this thread, it sounds like you can't find any common ground because you've never looked for any.

You think Republicans actually want to do something about abortion? That's cute.

I do believe in law and order, and that the law should be enforced. I don't always agree with the law (abortion rights), and wonder why some laws aren't enforced (immigration/border).
Moore was on the wrong side of the law with the 10 Commandments thing. What's legal is not always what's right/moral. He should have resigned his position, rather than be removed.
I didn't vote for Moore in the special primary, I voted for Pittman. Nevertheless, Moore won.
Given the choice I now have, Moore is the candidate I most closely identify with.
