I don't know how Chuck D didn't punch Flav sometimes. They are totally different personalities. Chuck is trying to convey a message while Flav and his giant clock are dancing around like a mental patient yelling Yeah Boy

Yea i was gonna say Flavor Flav did it for me i hear he is an extremely nice person

This is true. Flavor Flav silliness can be a turn off but I've heard the same thing about him. Apparently, he is too nice to the point people take advantage of him.

I don't have a greatest rapper ever, but the greatest alive are probably..

Eminem
Jay Z
Andre 3000
Kendrick

Greatest dead are obviously..

Biggie
Tupac
Big L
Big Pun

I aside from those, I really like Big Sean and J Cole. Lil Dicky is incredible. I hated Drake for a long time, but I've come around on him. Back to Back was amazing.

Surprised we got all the way to the second page before Jay-Z or Tupac were mentioned.

This right here. Also agree about Nas as well. These new artists don't even hold a candle to the hip hop heavyweights of the '90s.

I think Biggie was a poet, he could write rhymes with the greatest. His voice at times didn't allow for the best delivery and it caused him to pause and regain his breath from time to time. Tupac not a great writer but could flow with ease seemingly without breathing and he was a great showman.

Eminem would sell more because he tapped into the "white people that like rap" genre and that gives him more mass appeal. I don't take anything away from the guy but I've never been a big fan after his first album.

I have alot of respect for him never in his entire career used the N Word never rapped about Money Or "bitches" as much as rappers do nowadays imo he brought the white can can rap in view in a black dominant rap scene all his music makes you wanna punch someone in the face plus his daughter is smokin smokin hot

Nas.. and this thread should feel bad for not mentioning him sooner. Seriously, his flow is just incredible. He also recorded what is arguably the GOAT rap album, Illmatic. Every rap fan should be well-versed on Nas, especially the early stuff.

Had a spark when you started but now you're just garbage
Fell from "top 10" to "not mentioned at all"
To your bodyguard's "Oochie Wally"'s verse better than yours
Matter of fact you had the worst flow on the whole fricking song
But I know: the sun don't shine, then son don't shine
That's why your (lame) career's come to an end
It's only so long fake thugs can pretend
****, you ain't live it
You witnessed it from your folks' pad
You scribbled it in your notepad and created your life
I showed you your first TEC (me!), on tour with Large Professor
Then I heard your album about your TEC on the dresser
So yeah, I sampled your voice, you was using it wrong
You made it a hot line, I made it a hot song
And you ain't get a coin, ****, you was getting fricked then
I know who I paid, God - Serchlite publishing
Use your (brain)
You said you've been in this 10, I've been in it 5 - smarten up, Nas
4 albums in 10 years, ****? I could divide
That's one every...let's say 2
2 of them shits was due
1 was "nah," the other was Illmatic
That's a one-hot-album-every-10-year average
And that's so (lame)
****, switch up your flow
Your shite is garbage
What you trying to kick, knowledge?
You ****s gonna learn to respect the king
Don't be the next contestant on that Summer Jam screen
Because you-know-who did you-know-what with you-know-who
But let's keep that between me and you (for now)
