It was apparently a hoax. He briefly returned a few months later and tried to explain it with something like 'being in a bad place in life'.
It didn't fly. Everyone including his Auburn fellows disowned him. I don't know if he got permabanned or just ran off. Either way, he probably just created an alter and returned.

Diddy was faking. But there is a story there, and a reason. I've met Diddy. The legend is his to tell, if he chooses. It may or may not involve death threats, hookers, blow, Chinese gymnasts, online gambling, Bobby Lowder, debit cards, Craig James, the REC, email servers, jealous husbands, semi-automatic weapons, tattoo parlors and stalkers. A Lifetime Movie could be made. Maybe he'll tell it one day - if he ever gets unbanned.
