A good friend of mine died in April of last year. Two months ago there was a message on my newsfeed where she was suggesting that I "like" some business.

not to make light of anybody who is grieving... but I'd hope my frinds and/or family would do something like this.

It's really sad seeing friends and family go through the grieving process in public through a FB account like this. It's been happening with a pretty good friend of mine who passed in the fall over the last 6 or 7 months

I know when I die I don't want people up there hanging around my grave and talking to my headstone and shite, and I don't want them posting to my facebook either.

My mom still has the 4/27 coverage on our DVR from two years ago- no one can find the heart to delete it for some reason. Some things just have to leave there IMO

Crazy to think that in 100 years there will be millions and millions of Facebook accounts that belong to dead people.

It's weird when someone has taken over the dead person's account and still accepts people as friends.
It's also weird that people still post on the dead person's wall.

I watched a TEDtalks presentation last night on Netflix about the evolution of social media. One theorist speculated that so much personal information is being placed on media such as Facebook that it, the info database, may take on a "personality" all it's own and continue communicating with its "friends." It was really spooky.

I would imagine there is some sort of function that if someone hasn't logged on in like 5 years their account would automatically delete. I would assume so anyway.

It's even worse with twitter, because once the account's been deleted, anybody can get the exact username and troll.
