A Northerner in the (Bellum, ante and post) North v. South sense.
Yankee is a term derived from Yankee Doodle. Twat that means is a different story.

a yankee, and two southern gents, one white, one black were in the maternity ward. the doc emerged to say, we've mixed the babies up. the white southerner jumped up, went in the ward and came out holding a black baby. the black southerner said "hey man get real" the white southerner retorted, "I don't want that yankee baby"!
