I continue to hear this word used when referencing MIZZOU fans, just need clarification on y'alls definition/meaning. I may be a Yankee and not even know it. I know my great granddaddy and grandma on both sides came from TN and KY.

If you have to ask then you are clearly a Yankee.

You seem to be seeking some sort of validation. I've lived in Mississippi for longer than most here have been alive, and I'll never be "from around here" by local standards.

Harden the frick up.

WTF? I'm not looking for anything but a definition from someone who uses the word.

Someone who's lived in Missouri for 72 hours or longer. Anything north of Missouri, 10 hours or longer.

Example:
Person1: Hey man, is that baby a Yankee?
Person2: I don't know, man, has he lived in the north for more than 10 hours?
Person1: Yeah.
Person2: Man, that baby's a Yankee.

Hell, I'm good with it then. I heard Justin Wilson "The Cajun Cook" say it was anyone who lived north of Baton Rouge.

You know how a marlin is a member of a south Florida MLB baseball team and also a fish in the ocean? Two different things with one common name. One, a baseball team name and the other a noun with regional significance which the team name was based off of. This is one of those times also.

The same is true for every MLB team name.
