People use the word "Yankee" like it's an insult. Those people are just stupid because it's certainly not an insult. I'd rather be called a Yankee than a southerner any day of the week.

Embrace that shite.

If you were born geographically north from a Southerner, you are a Yankee in their eyes.

People from New Orleans call people from Baton Rouge Yankees, people from BR call people from North Louisiana Yankees, people from North Louisiana call people from Mizzou yankees, ect. There are levels of Yankeedom. The highest level are those from major cities in the Northeast like Boston, Philadelphia, Jersey City, Hartford, and especially New York.

My only connections to the state of Kentucky are Fort Campbell and the University of Kentucky. I'm not from there.

A yankee to me is anybody who comes from a state whose ancestors wore a blue uniform in the Civil War.

You seem to forget there are many southerners who fought and died to preserve the Union. And that a political leaning does not make someone a Yankee or a Southerner. Simply the customs/culture and ancestry make one a southerner.

But what if your ancestors wore gray in the Civil War, but you are born in Missouri?

Are you then a Yankee by birth, with Dixie blood?

This is dumb. I'm 'merican.
