This is what people like yourself convince yourself. Within 24 hours of Palin announced as VP candidate, you had national editors opining she had faked a pregnancy without a whit of evidence.

It's pretty cool she had the sex with Glenn Rice.

I dont need to convince myself of anything. They had a fricking reality tv show. They embraced all the attention they could get.

I'd think so. I'm not a big Palin supporter, but if I got shite on enough by the media to pretty much eliminate any chance of advancing my political career on a national level for no other reason than to shite on me I'd parlay it into some reality money.

Seems like Lemonade to me.

Well, selective memory is certainly one way to live life. Good luck.

Did she really have a future on the national stage?

She did take McCain's hail Mary and run with it. I'll give her credit for being able to size an opportunity.

I'm guessing she could have gone to Washington as a rep or senator from Alaska. She was wildly popular in Alaska before the VP thing.

No, I'm not. I don't think she's dumber than the average Representative in the House, but that's probably damning with faint praise. I don't think she is smart. Probably an average IQ with a far better sense of pragmatics than intellect.

Was she unfairly attacked? Probably a little, but that's politics today - destroy your enemy. Doesn't make it right, but let's not pretend her treatment was unique. Part of that is on McCain and the GOP for not doing more to protect her. She wasn't prepared for that role, and they left her dangling in the wind on a few occasions.

Still, her resigning as governor before her term was up did as much, if not more, damage than any media hit piece did to her national political career.

I'm sure she still could, unless she burned bridges in Alaska. I don't think the media killed her chanced in her home state. Hell Vitter got caught with prostitutes as a family values candidate and got reelected.

Almost every president in the last 50 years has been awful.

Agreed.

Palin resigned halfway into her first term as Governor of Alaska to become a reality star and cash in on her fame and celebrity.

This may not make her a bad person, but it does make her unfit for higher office.

i will agree that most of the reps are pretty dumb and if the same spotlight was put on them, many of them would look just as bad or worse.

Don't bother. He's naive enough to not care. His HR person is the end all, be all of information.

Pretty much. Hell, go back almost 70 years and you can say the same thing.

Eisenhower was probably the last truly great President we've had. Maybe throw Truman in there, though some of his actions in the Middle East led to where we are with some of those nations today.
