I have had about $2000 in change before. About 5 years ago, I finally cashed it all in.
I wil never do that again. It is a pain in the arse to do it. Banks done want it and the coin star takes too much
At a few hundred now, I just cash it

Actually, I do this before I put them in the jar. I doubt very many got past me.

Damn, some big numbers in change here.
Most I've ever cashed was probably 50-60 bucks at a coin star years ago.
I have about a 20 ounce cup now. When it fills up, I toss it in a coin star machine. Probably fills up about 4 times a year, usually about 40 bucks.

Mine took a lot of yrs to build up. Had 2 medium sized flower pots full, a paint can full, a one gallon well pail full and a couple of quart sized mason jars full when I finally got around to counting it.

Jesus Christ, I can't imagine rolling up $2k worth of loose change WTF did you own a laundromat before you started fishing?

I imagine it did. Must have taken a while to roll it all for the bank as well. I remember doing that before coinstar machines as well.

I have probably $10 in change in a Newks cup in my truck. I never have change because I just swipe everything.

My wife had one of those water cooler bottles about 4 inches deep (including some dollar bills) and it added up to several hundred bucks for a trip to Disneyworld.
They've been re-filling it for another trip we hope to take in 2016 or 17.

No. Just never used my change for years. I took it to the bank, they didnt want it unless I rolled it and then wrote my account number on every roll. Was not going to do that so just used the machine and paid a huge fee.

I save a gallon jug of all coins and cash it in when full. It is always over $300. I would guess all dimes is over $500.

After reading all the comments, am I the only person who's bank has a machine like coinstar in the lobby for customers to use for free?
You process your coins in and it prints out a receipt which you take to the teller and either deposit or exchange for cash.
And to answer the OP, about $40 in pennies.

I use Wells Fargo and they do not here. And they dont really want the change. They make it hard for you to even take it to them.

My credit union does it free of charge. Last time I cashed in, I had over $2k.

What bank?
State Employee's Credit Union in Montgomery.
Edited to add - you don't have to be a state employee to bank there, it just started out serving that population.

About $300 bucks or so.
I am not sure if Coinstar still does it, but you used to be able to have the Coinstar fee waived if you got it in the form of a gift certificate. They had Amazon available which was sweet.
