I have a gallon jug full of dimes only, I am trying to guess how much it will cash in for.
Hoping it's over 500 bucks.
I realize that I can weigh it, and make a good estimate, but I thought I would get some guesses here first.

That should be more than 500
I've gotten about 600 out of less than a gallon of quarters, dimes and nickels

And just think, had you been putting that in the bank over the years you'd have collected some interest.

Make sure you take the time to roll it and take it to your bank instead of using one of those coinstar machines

I have two glass 5.5 gallon carboys that I used to use for beer making. One I fill with pennies and one I fill with silver change. Both are more than a 1/4 full. I have the wife and kids all dumping their change in them. When they are full, we are taking a family trip somewhere cool.

I have a little half gallon jar that I throw change into during the year and when it gets time for vacation, I cash it out and use the money on one dinner. How much we save determines where we eat! Kids seem to get that idea.

My friend actually has a machine that does this, if not for that, I would take it to a coinstar. I hate rolling change.

Hookers and blow. Just so you can say you bought it with change.

I had $103 after the coinstar fee was subtracted. That was a water cooler jug.

Last yr, I cashed in 60 in pennies, 400ish in dimes and nickels and 800 in quarters. Was about 7 yrs worth of accumulation.

I used to work with a guy that had a rural mail route. When he came in off his route he would put his change in a gallon can. When he filled one up he would take it home and put in his basement . When he retired he took all that change and bought a new crappie boat and a new pickup. It's been a while so he probably spent north of $20,000.

I can't remember the last time I had change in my pocket. I keep a few 20s in my wallet in case of emergency but they go unused.
