My mom never hit me with anything, but she would grab and twist my arm while pulling me in real close to make sure I got her message

Dad gave me the belt several times for talking back to mom though. One time when I was 11 or so I tried to run away while he grabbed his belt, he turned and grabbed me by the collar of my shirt and yanked me back so hard I went airborne and the shirt ripped. That earned me several extra blows.

Our son is 28 and an attorney now. Good man and was a pretty good kid. However when he was a sr in HS he figured he knew what was up and gave his mom a ration of shite.

That came to blows between me and him. I threw him through a wooden fence. Didnt work out too well for him or my fence. Never sassed his mama again and kept his distance from me expressing any "opinions" again until he was moved out of the house.

Boys are easier than girls. You can beat shite of boys. Girls you cant. Doesnt work.

I deserved it every time I got it. No argument here. I'll do the same to my kids.

That is surprising. I would have thought you were a "time out" type person.

I can't imagine what would have happened had I called my mom a bitch like a couple in this thread have said they did. I feel like I would have ended up out of the house altogether with a few teeth on the curb.

Strong words from mama (think, "and may the Lord have mercy on your soul") and then a 2" thick leather belt (the kind with double prongs for a buckle) to the back side when daddy got home (leather side-not metal).

I can still hear today the "whup" "whup" "whup" "whup" of the end of that leather belt quickly coming through his belt loops and off of his waist. His home office was just inside the back door, and when he arrived home on such days, you didn't see him before you heard the belt, and then he would summon you. Terrible fear striketh in the heart.

same here, by the time I was old enough to know what "bitch" was I knew already better than to ever utter that in the house, much less at mama.
