What happened if you talked back to your mama?

She'd guilt the hell out of me and then tell the whole story of her day to Dad when he got home (do you wanna know what happened in this house today!?!) and then... well I'm pretty sure I've blocked most of anything that happened next.
My younger brother had, what would later be diagnosed as hyperactivity and even later ADHD, and for him a hard time in the corner was practically torture. I never got time outs and it drove me nuts. My parents where just bloody smart, knew exactly how to get at both of us.

Once, a very firm and authoritative warning. Afterwards, a belt. I learned not to do things that earned a belting, switching, or paddling at a young age.

Someone else got the wooden spoon treatment too!! Honestly, my mom would grab whatever was close - wooden spoon, fly swatter, hairbrush - straight across the back of my legs.
Plus the guilt trip. No one does a guilt trip like my mother. She is the guilt trip tour guide.

I did something wrong and I was talking back...
I had finished football practice and I was waitng for big brother to finish his. My mom caught up with me and gave me a major spanking. Except I was laughing. And she thusly kept spanking and increasing the intensity. And I kept laughing.
It ended with my mom cussing and then stopping the punishment. I continued to laugh.
Victory was mine, people of the OTB, for I had my butt pad attached and no damage was felt.
