1. Probably. The list of factors for a life sustaining planet are long.
2. If we had, we'd all be dead or enslaved. Unless the life forms are gaseous or on some dimension that has no reason to kill us.
3. Doubtful, but if we do, it's much better to be the invader than the invaded.
4. Probably not unless we discover a cheap or effective means of terraforming, as the list of factors to make a habitable planet are too great.
