What do you think about our place in the universe?

1. Are we alone?
2. Do you think we have ever been contacted or visited by a species not from this planet?
3. Do you think we will ever meet a species not from this planet?
4. Do you think humanity will ever successfully spread from Earth/the Solar System?...as in self sustaining communities on other planets that could continue if Earth was no more?
5. Do you think 3 or 4 will happen in your lifetime?

1. No
2. Doubtful
3. Possibly
4. If we don't kill ourselves or get hit by an asteroid then yes
5. Probs not

1. Are we alone? I don't believe so, and I find it mathmatically impossible to think that we are.
2. Do you think we have ever been contacted or visited by a species not from this planet? On the fence about this, it's just as possible as improbable.
3. Do you think we will ever meet a species not from this planet? Yes
4. Do you think humanity will ever successfully spread from Earth/the Solar System?...as in self sustaining communities on other planets that could continue if Earth was no more? Yes
5. Do you think 3 or 4 will happen in your lifetime? No and the reason why is this, what we can see now out in the universe is what happened eons ago to that planet or system or whatever. We are looking at the past.
The concept works in reverse as well, lets say another intelligent species is also looking to answer if they are alone in the universe, they are watching our solar system and see our little planet as a possibility to colonize in the future. What they are actually seeing, depending on how far away they are, is hundreds of thousands of years or even millions of years into our planets history. Life may not have formed on our planet yet by the light rays their planet is receiving, this is what makes the concept of finding life in the universe basically like winning the interstellar lottery. Until we advance our society and technological know how to the point of actually traveling those distances and seeing firsthand if there is life, we are just reading last weeks news basically IMHO.

We are not alone. Jesus is in our hearts.

1. No.
2. Possibly.
3. Eventually yes.
4. No. We will kill ourselves first or an asteroid will kill us off.
5. Only if I am immortal and do not yet know it.

1. I think we probably are alone as far as intelligent life. I'm sure there are other organisms which count as "life" elsewhere though.
2. No
3. I think we will find one at some point - again probably not intelligent life
4. Yes, but it will be a very small amount of people
5. I don't know

1. Are we alone? A qualified no. Life is probably ubiquitous wherever the elements of its makeup are present. Simple life may be as common as earth-like planets. Complex sentient life is likely much more rare. After all, it took 4 billion years for intelligent life to evolve on earth, just once.
2. Do you think we have ever been contacted or visited by a species not from this planet? No. There are an estimated 44 billion earth-like planets in the Milky Way alone; 11 billion orbiting sun-like stars and another 33 billion circling red dwarfs, the most common kind of star. We're lost in the numbers.
3. Do you think we will ever meet a species not from this planet? Ever is a long time. The three possibilities are that they will come here, we will go there or we'll meet somewhere else. I personally think we will have to go there. We will find them, probably in a simple microbial state.
4. Do you think humanity will ever successfully spread from Earth/the Solar System?...as in self sustaining communities on other planets that could continue if Earth was no more? No, not in our present form. We evolved here. We are constructed to maximize our lives in this environment. We'll have to change our species via genetic modification to travel in space or we'll have to project our species into the Universe via Artificial Intelligence. A.I. is the logical choice and we are steamrolling towards that technological achievement.
5. Do you think 3 or 4 will happen in your lifetime? Yes. We'll discover the first extraterrestrial life soon, perhaps within the next 10-20 years. A.I. will probably be common within the next 50 years.

No
Probably. We probably just don't know it.
Not in our lifetime.
Yes. We could be terraforming Mars in the next 100 years. Who knows. Look at our technology advancements the past 100 years alone.
No.
Our place in the universe is small and insignificant. All of these things can happen. They might have already happened and we just don't know it. Alien species might even thrive off of a different substance than water.
Life uhh, finds a way.

1. Are we alone? - No. They walk amongst us today.
2. Do you think we have ever been contacted or visited by a species not from this planet? - Yes. Kanye West and Kimye. That crazy bastard and his bride aint from round here. Kardashians are definitely aliens whose goal is to interbreed with humans via the NBA.
3. Do you think we will ever meet a species not from this planet? Already have. See above. He aint from here.
4. Do you think humanity will ever successfully spread from Earth/the Solar System?...as in self sustaining communities on other planets that could continue if Earth was no more? - Not in present form. Other gravities, etc, will influence our evolution.
5. Do you think 3 or 4 will happen in your lifetime?
Yes and No.

in the universe? no.
those who question it should watch this until the end. It doesn't prove anything, but come on.

I think NASA knows more than they let on, but not contacted per say. IMO.

Ever? Depends on how long we survive.

5. Do you think 3 or 4 will happen in your lifetime?
Whoops, well already answered that. No I don't. I wish we would, but I think society is focused on other things.

I have no reason to believe or disbelieve this notion.

I certainly hope so, and think it is a distinct possibility.

If I'm lucky.

1. No idea.
2. Probly not.
3. "Ever" is a long time. Would lean towards yes.
4. Again, "ever" is a long time. Not sure.
5. Absolutely not.

Are we alone?
Scientifically: Impossible, simple probability dictate that life is out there somewhere in the infinite abyss.
Non Scientifically: Angels bitch, that counts as non-terrestrial life in my book.
