But trying to argue and defy an officer when they have stated you are under arrest, will result in bad juju every single time.

Didn't the police officer have hold of his shirt for quite some time before actually telling him he was under arrest? Even after he directly asked him if he were being arrested or detained.

Kids totally did not handle that correctly. Everyone else should have stayed out of it.

At some point you have to use common sense. Instead of trying to prove a stupid point, just comply if the requests are reasonable. 10 people filming and some stupid girl screaming at an officer is not going to end well.

Did the police officer overreact, maybe. They definitely should not have tased the guy or tackled the sorority girl. That said, if they had complied from the start, no one would have been arrested and the night wouldn't have ended in a shite storm.

Reminds me of College Station cops. It's not a successful day for them until they frick with college kids by handing out MIPs and noise violations.

If this guy had simply stepped outside as the one rational person (who was inside the apartment) on both sides of that cluster kept yelling for him to do, he'd have been arrested for a misdemeanor and bonded out within the hour. With a ton of witnesses and multiple videos, he would have very likely been acquitted.

Wrong the only reason the cop kept insisting that they come out was then he had the authority to arrest them for public intox, disorderly conduct or whatever else he could dream up. They did exactly the right thing by not leaving their home.

Is this standard for the TPD to send 8 cops to a noise complaint?

Well, not the only reason. He also knew he had no right to come inside the apartment. They did do the right thing not going outside. They did the wrong thing attempting to shut the door on him. The cop was already going to arrest the guy for some bullshite interfering with investigation or resisting arrest charge.

No, according to today's press release he called for backup and a bunch of officers patrolling the nearby Strip(bar area) responded.

No. The officer had already placed him under arrest. It is right there in the video.

By not leaving his home, he committed the crime of resisting arrest.

Arrested for WHAT? He never says. You can't just walk up to somebody and say "you're under arrest" and make it so. It was an unlawful arrest.

Up to that point the cop was standing outside because he knew he didn't have the right to enter. So by your logic law enforcement can walk up to any private residence, knock on the door, and when somebody answers all they have to do is say out loud "you're under arrest" and without giving a reason they can now enter your home, pull you from your home, beat you, and take you into custody. Is this what you're telling me?

Depending on the city and the beat, cops probably only spend about 10% of their time protecting citizens or putting their lives on the line.

Those three look like hardened criminals and should be given the death penalty.
