Yea im anti planet fitness

They have some cool machines, really good offers and a shite ton of cardio but they don't have shite for actual free weights. They also have all these weird no judgement zone signs. I went with my neighbor once and I'm surprised they didn't ask me to leave for working out too hard

Gotcha.

I've never "gotten" gyms myself ("Can I pay you to come to a place you own and lift something heavy?"), though I do think I should work on toning at some time. I lost a good deal of weight in the last few years but I still gotta do actual muscle building at some point

I hit more of mine from the wings these days

Also got a killer midrange game. Always liked being proficient in those shots because they're usually "no man's land" against typical defenses.

I like the Y because, i have a nice place to run, basketball courts, a pool if i need it, and plenty of different machines and weights. Once I get myself established and buy a home I might look into investing in weights because in the long run it would probably be cheaper

Yeah, probably so. I do think going to the gym though might make for a nice routine for me personally. I don't know, I'll have to see after the move what's around.

I have a set of free weights ranging from 5-65 lbs. 2 of each Plus stand.
I don't use them right now since I've got everything I need at the apartment.
If you get a place let me know and I'll hook you up with a good deal on the set.

they discourage grunting, dropping weights, and heavy lifting. It makes others feel beta if you are alphaing up in the gym. The dumbbells go up to 75 pounds, they don't have any actual barbell bench. I think they have a smith machine. the only place to do pull ups and dips is on the pull up assist machine.

they do have a very nice ab room and hundreds of cardio machines, they also have some other machines for these station to station workouts.

They also don't allow dead lifts or power cleans

I like the YouTube videos of alphas getting pissed and throwing equipment around when they're asked to leave

Damn, guess I wouldn't be welcome, then

I don't really grunt (although I usually have my music pumping so loud I probably don't hear whatever sounds I do make ), but I do lift heavy. I also roll my sleeves up if I'm wearing a sleeved shirt. Not to show off, just because I sweat a ton and it gets uncomfortable (and I'm not really a fan of straight up sleeveless shirts for some reason).

Yeah, I need some healthier ways to blow off stress anyway since I ought to quit smoking.

I do a lot of grunting when I eat a Snickers bar. But I usually have Seal's "Kiss from a Rose" playing so loudly that I don't hear myself.
