Dumb enough to not allow illogical western societal norms dictate my beliefs about the world around me.

There is no good reason for objecting to shooting large game but not the snake in your backyard. So a given creature is endangered, so what? 99.9% of the species which have ever existed are extinct, as will we be someday.

The people in these photos have given more money to help fund wildlife conservation in Africa than all the bitchers and moaners combined. I have no interest in shooting a zebra, but frick the haters.

This. People don't understand that when rich people go on big game hunts like these, a lot of the proceeds go to conservation efforts.

Who kills snakes? On a farm they eat the rodents that would get in the feed bins.

Guilty.

But the only non venomous one I've ever killed was that one that wouldn't leave my yard when I got 5 feet from it.

There should be a worldwide ban on trophy hunting and whaling IMHO.

Elephants, ... all African big game mammals for that matter. There's zero reason for it.

One of the biggest big game hunters in the world lives just across the lake from me. He's always on the shows killing something with a Jarret Rifle, which are made a couple of miles from here. He's a little duck midget who does it to make him feel like a man.

And whaling should be outlawed. Whaling is criminal IMHO.

If I hunt it I'm gonna eat it and thank the animal for what he gives us in the process.

Bears should be left the frick alone too. Unless they are nussance bears ... usually made so because of our trash and encroaching ....there is no need to hunt bears.

I'm pro hunting. Whitetail, Mulies, Elk, Moose, Caribou, I've hunted them all. Squirrels, rabbits, ducks, quail ... I quit killing doves because it got too easy.

Just killed some coyotes the other night. Killed a big pig a couple of weeks ago and fed him to the dogs.

But killing for trophies is wrong IMHO. Screw the African economy argument.

There is objectively no true reason behind most things people do. Almost everything we do in life only has subjective meaning.

Do you Outdoor Board bro?

Most folks i know kill any and all snakes on sight. I always ask if they eat them. This is my qualifier for any animal killed. If it is eaten, I have no problems with it.

I shot a bear once and she laid there bellowing like a human for what seemed like eternity until she died. I won't ever kill another one. I've hunted my whole life and am good with killing all the traditional game but that bothered me. We did butcher it, though, and gave the meat to a needy family.

Our ideas about which animals are ok to kill for the sake of killing and which are not are completely arbitrary (and often illogical, as is the case with snakes and spiders who are far more useful than tigers and cheetahs). As with most things, humans as a whole are not nearly as rational and consistent as we like to think we are.

Or they are just using much different criteria than you think in making value judgements.

The criteria are arbitrary, regardless of what they are.

What in the actual frick is a person shooting a Giraffe for? They are huge and what are you going to do? Eat it? NO. Put it on the wall? NO.

Thats just immoral in my opinion, and I am not anti hunter or anti gun.

I get deer hunting and stuff. Thin the herd, overpopulation, animals in urban environs. But a fricking Giraffe on the african plains? What an a-hole.

Folks that say they taste like chicken are lying. I guess I could eat it if there was nothing else but much prefer other small game.

I donk kill spiders either unless they get in my space. Much prefer the spiders to flies and mosquito's as flying things seem to have no problem getting in my space. I know folks in Asia and South America eat spiders, but just not my cup of tea.

"I have to agree with OP. I'm all about killing animals for consumption or population control, but to kill them just for the sake of killing them is bullshite."

So, you have no problem with elephant hunting, then?
