Would you be okay with him marrying your daughter? You're the most proud to be white person on this board, but your grandkids would be black. Would that be okay with you?

You heard first hand from someone who lived in the 1800s???? So if they were born in 1850 they would have been 100 if you talked to them 65 years ago. If they were born 1895 I doubt they remember the 1800s very much

You might want to read his post carefully. I'm pretty sure that question's already been answered.

I was close to my great grandmother when I was young and she very aware of the late 1800's and early 1900's. She passed in 1969 and was 97 at the time. She was pretty clear as a bell right up till the last 3 months of her life. Very, very kind and lovely woman. I was one of her caregivers all the way to the end. I sometimes think she held on long enough to say she had lived to have gown up with the horse and buggy but got to see the moon landing. My grandfather (her SIL) died believing we never did land on the moon. She was a big fan of Elvis.

What you are also unaware is that in an age without TV, radio, indoor plumbing, and other such things history was passed down at the dinner table where 3 and 4 generations would gather to eat and talk. Kids today text their friends who know just as little as they do. Kids in the past learned from the wisdom of their elders. As folks had long memories you have little understanding of just how much they remembered as you view the past based on the present without actually living through the past.

To totally derail the thread, my maternal grandmother (born in 1913) went to her grave believing the same thing.

This is so true. My Grandparents were born in the 1890s and never had a TV or radio going at dinner time. That was the time to visit and tell stories.

Everything he said is 100% true. But most people wouldn't listen anyway, they would never get past the title before they got mad and decided it was wrong.

Many of that generation had the same belief. One of my favorite "holy cow" stories was my grandmother riding (horseback) up and down Miami Beach encountering only a house or two among the coconuts and mosquitoes. We had a family place down there until a few years ago and it is staggering to think how much it changed in less than a lifetime.

In 20 years the Republic party will no longer exist or at least in a capacity that will be influential.

It would certainly explain Tbird's NASCAR addiction.

Seriously, Scrooster / Tbird / TBird's dad are all military so I can see it even if it is not true.

Did I type anywhere that he was my favorite black guy you lying fricking bone smoking fricktard?

Seriously. Why do you leftie fricktards always wanna put words in people's mouths?

Cram that "favorite black guy" up your arse with the rest of the dicks you stuff up there every day.

My favorite black guy, you raving fricking cocksucker, is one of my Son in Laws ... bitch. Not that I ever really view him as black except when we are having philosophical discussions when he is home from the military - but yeah, I suppose you could call him my favorite black guy. Him and his Dad probably.

Oh wait, what were you expecting me to stay ... "buckwheat?"

fricktard little bitches like you are what is the frick wrong with this goddamn country today ... you think you know so goddamn much when you really don't know jack shite about anything or anybody. You're whole entire worthless fricking life is built around baiting and trolling and acting like you know what the world is all about.

Just frick off you little bone smoking fricktard.

In the meantime, the black man in that video ... thank God he is growing in number and when he does reach full potential, he and guys like Marcus Lattimore and Eddie Lacy, et al, will join with the good side and help turn this thing around and stop the madness.

This shite is getting so outta hand.

It's funny you want a black man that acts and talks a certain way.

It's funny that you think it is me that wants it.

It's pathetic that you cannot see the truth in the man's words and make something positive out of it.

It's fricking hypocritical that you leftie fricks wanna keep the black man down, ignorant to what it takes to lead a successful, free life. Free from government fricktards, free from Uncle Sugar's tit, free from the constant race baiting and excuses ...

lulz

Whatever.

I'm gonna take a break from this place for awhile. It's time to go fishing or cut grass or something.

A truly eloquent, beautiful melt. Although we knows these guys are really your favorite black guys...

Considering how many race related threads I've seen you start, I figured you were wearing the red hooded robe. But to hear you have a black son in law is a surprise.

I've noticed that children of racists often rebel, and end up with a partner of another race (Particularly daughters). So would this describe your situation, where you told your daughter growing up she needs to marry a white man, she rebelled, but then you met him and realized that socio-economic differences have a greater effect on a person's morals. Or did you tell your children that race is just skin pigmentation, and she should be free to fall in love with anyone, regardless of how close to the equator their ancestors lived?

Why? Support your statement.

Politics are cyclical, so it's more likely that in 20 years Republicans have a firm hold on things while Democrats are outcasts mocked by mainstream group-think.

Well, with the republicans still not making any strong gains with minorities, Texas will probably go democrat in 2024 for federal elections. Though, like Florida, it's so gerrymandered, that republicans will still hold control over the state elections.

So if the republicans lose Texas, the democrats will have

California=55
Texas=38
New York=29
Florida=29
Illinois=20

That's 171 electoral votes.

Also, 18 states have voted democrat in the last 6 elections, for a total of 242 electoral votes. Add Texas' 38, and that's 280, greater than the 270 needed for victory. LINK

So yeah, once Texas goes blue, the republicans are screwed.

The masses are never pleased with the government, and upcoming generations tend to lean the opposite way that their fathers did. Today's trends aren't likely to matter 20 years from now.

It'll depend on several factors. Republicans need to become more inclusive, yet not anger their base either. Hispanics will also play a huge role in future elections. And if Hispanic voter turnout improves, as of now, the republicans would be in big trouble. So far, only Cubans vote republican. If they don't change that, they'll become significantly less powerful on the federal level.
