At least the masters is soon.

Non baseball fans just don't get it.

It's amusing to me that the SECRant tries to pump college baseball up everyone's asses and then turns around and says MLB sucks. College baseball isn't even close to the product that the MLB is

Going to a game is awesome. Watching a game on tv, is like watching flies frick.

I'm pretty sure I'd rather watch flies frick than watch baseball on tv.

Non baseball fans don't make an important consideration.
Baseball is about the marathon, not the moment, but there are some exciting moments within the marathon.
You have to care about so many things that aren't a part of the in game action. Without that investment and caring about certain things it's not going to be very enjoyable to watch baseball.
As a baseball fan you spend everyday with your team, you end up feeling like you really know the players personalities and that adds to the investment of caring.
It's totally unique and different than football or basketball and other sports.

I'm a big Cards fan, but I don't even like watching all 9 innings all the time. It's good to have it on while you're doing other things.
It's more about keeping pace with the marathon. Knowing how things are trending with the team, paying attention to the big picture but not watching and expecting to be entertained by each little moment.

Well 162 games in a season is what makes most people not enjoy it.

Great sport

Nothing wrong with a nice summer night at a minor league park. Spend $25, enjoy the sunset, look at women. TV is a no go for me, though. Although I can remember watching whole games on Saturdays as a kid.

State pride has a lot to do with that, I think. In the North it's more about city pride.
I also think the fact that the South hasn't really had pro baseball very long is an influencing factor.
Until the 60s the Cardinals were the most southern team in the majors, that's significant, especially for a sport that relies on dad's and grandpa's passing down their fan loyalties.

If you watched 162 games, all 9 innings you'd be crazy.
There are more side factors outside of the immediate game action that makes following the baseball marathon enjoyable.
The NBA's the league that's suffering not MLB. In the NBA the regular season is played so casually, it's a passionless boring sport. The atmosphere and style of college basketball is why America still enjoys the college game, while the NBA is in decline, being overtaken by the NHL (a league that has shite on itself, yet it's still growing).

I have zero hockey background and I've been finding myself watching significantly more hockey over the past two years.

I live in nashville, and hockey is one of the better sports to attend live

HD has helped hockey more than any other sport, imo.
As cast said, it's a great sport to attend live.
For a long time the game didn't translate well on tv, but I think that HD has helped with the viewing experience in a big way.
Plus the game has gotten much faster over the last 15 years.
