Yeah things are going great in California and New York. Thankfully preaching gun control in America is almost guaranteed to be political suicide. I hope it stays that way.

How are those strict gun laws working out for Chicago?

Lol, you're such a simple little man, Stonehog.

People love to use per capita instead of total numbers until per capita doesn't support what they're trying to preach.

Actually, in terms of gun violence, NYC is pretty good. Light years past where we were in the early 90s when it was practically Mogadishu

I'll pass on the Center for Disease Control's skewed stats in their push for gun control and more funding.

Thanks for the offer though.

If only they made breaking the law illegal. Shucks. You have it all figured out.

That doesn't really mean anything without removing other variables. Ex. income levels, demographic and cultural factors, police effectiveness, etc.

A state like Vermont basically has nothing in common with a state like Georgia, for example. Comparing the effectiveness of their laws without taking those differences into account is a fundamentally flawed concept.

I'm aware that Chicago is a city, in the state of Illinois. Do you feel super awesome about your "gotcha post"? You really shouldn't.

Chicago is in the state of Illinois and it has pretty strict gun laws. So.... what are you laughing at, champ? His point is valid. Strict gun laws don't necessarily mean gun violence will decrease.

His point was the city of Chicago has strict gun laws and it's doing shite for them. But yeah just keep laughing at him because you know it destroys your argument for gun control totally.

Ah, this is of course, accurate. Because there are no laws restricting guns at any level lower than state. Municipal laws have no effect. We should lump southern Illinois (which has looser laws and much less deaths) in with Chicago (opposite). That's totally honest.

Firearms are super illegal to purchase in Mexico, and hey, would you look at that?

Firearm-related death rate per 100,000 population per year

Mexico 11.17

United State 10.64

And those are just the incidents that are reported, there are way more that go completely unreported, unlike the United States.
