I'm a fan of St. Paul and Madison.

Worst
1. Lansing
2. Jackson
3. Columbus (I absolutely hate that city and can't explain why)
4. Baton Rouge
5. Montgomery

This list is ridiculous if Tallahassee and Little Rock aren't on it. Also, although I haven't been to these, they would seem (from a distance at least) to be contenders as well:

Des Moines
Oklahoma City
Bismarck
Pierre
Boise
Helena
Cheyenne
Trenton
Topeka

quote:

1. Boston
2. Atlanta
3. Nashville
4. Austin (many will rank Austin #1, but I just don't have an overwhelming love for it)
5. Salt Lake City

Some other candidates:

Honolulu
Phoenix
Denver

I mean, I haven't been to anywhere close to all of them. Des Moines isn't that bad and Oklahoma City is just like most Southern cities- nothing remarkable or unremarkable about it.

Trenton is bad, but it is located in once of the nicest areas in the US (Mercer Co.)

I don't think Harrisburg is absolutely terrible, but it's certainly not great. If I had to pick a state capital to live in, Harrisburg wouldn't make my bottom five

Can't believe I left Madison off my list. One of my favorite cities in America. Dated a girl that graduated from Wisconsin, and went there with her a couple of times and regretted I didn't get to experience college life there. Great town.

I would throw a mention out there for Providence. Very underrated city.

It is a pretty good city for it's size.

He's probably not laughing at the city (and I agree there's a lot cool about it). I suspect he's laughing because of this:

Austin, Salt Lake City and Nashville are all better than Atlanta. Atlanta is a crime ridden, traffic infested hell hole.

Boston is the shite.

Similar to my impression of Anchorage.

Anchorage is pretty, as long as you avert your eyes up toward the mountains. Otherwise, it has an ugly built environment filled with a huge number of homeless people, and fat women.

Little Rock

Little Rock isn't that bad, especially for a southern city. It is still growing in the actual city limits. It has a cool downtown and riverfront and some nice older neighborhoods, as well as a rich and scenic west side. It has mountains out west, and a big river right through the heart of it.

Is an awesome little town as are Boise and Cheyenne.

I would live in Helena or Cheyenne.

No one said it was. He quoted from my identifying info on the left of the screen. He apparently was laughing at someone from DC talking about state capitals for some reason.
