As a kid I always wondered why one state flag was a red X and one state flag was a red X with a seal in the middle. Why didn't the on without the seal have a different seal?
I mean it's all moot. Nothing is as bad arse as the Texas flag. Also having to throw in the shape of the state and how easily they mesh. Texas has the great advantage of being the best shaped state as well.

For me... Virginia, Maryland, California, Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Kentucky, Texas, and South Carolina.

I haven't seen half of these state flags before, and there are some truly shitty designs.

I'm a fan of the Bonnie Blue flag. It also happens to look just like the republic of west florida flag.
The Baton Rouge flag could be cool if we replaced the gay Baton Rouge in the middle and made the shield bigger

I don't know about most recognizable.... but SC, TX are the GOAT flags with AZ pulling up the rear.
