On a different level, and thinking like normal people and without Texan bias, do you Texans ever wish your symbol was something less obvious/overly used?

Again, without pride, don't you wish you could have had an armadillo or something closer to the old Come and Take it Flag instead of a lone star?

Scott Bacula has already made sure the armadillo is never ever to be used in serious items.

Headline in Stars and Stripes

Desk Jockey Flyguy wannabe gets 10 years of service in Altus for unpatriotic and subversive actions.

Later in article

Pvt Toby is no longer allowed in Great State of Texas and must become Teammate Killer CC Votech fan.

Got it, I was just asking.

It just seems a little tame for Texas. Not really representative of shite about the state. It's part of the reason I've always loved South Carolina, their flag, and their symbolism on everything. The Palmetto and Crescent moon will always represent South Carolina to anyone without their head in the arse. Star, even on the flag. That could be anything. Hell, there's a whole other country with a really similar flag.

It just seems like it's really "meh" for a state like Texas.

Keep in mind, we're in the nerd thread about symbolic shite, not the "Which state is best" thread.

Lone Star?

Standing alone? All that jazz? That's about as defiantly Texan as it gets

That's not a country. That's food

The flag of Liberia and Chile just want to be confused with Tejas.

They ate the Coog High and Tortilla Chuckers of flags

South Carolina is good in my book. It's probably the most Texan state beyond Texas.

And for the yank saying that the Lone Star is meh....

It is the very essence of Texas.

My in-laws moved from Charleston to Seabrook when my wife was a kid. Still there, in fact, like an hour and a half away iirc

I've always thought Alabama's was easily recognizable. It's just a big red X.
