Not the worst, but the worst experience was shrooms, weed and drank a bottle of robotussin. Started freaking out, so I started downing beers. Happened at a rural farm in western North Carolina about 20 years ago. Bad times!

Sounds like Robo-trippin where you drink a whole bottle of a certain kind of Robotussin. We did that in high school and it was awful. I forget which kind of Robotussin it has to be. Huffing Scotch-guard was also fun in high school.

3 hydrocodines and some booze. Was not an excellent combination.

I'm not being judgmental when I ask this: Why on earth would you want to take drugs? Life is a drug itself. There's just so much to enjoy without altering your senses . Using drugs doesn't make any sense to me.
Then again, I've never tried recreational drugs. I've had some fairly strong prescriptions for ailments but they've never done anything to make me want to do them on my own.
Again, not saying you're wrong. I'm a Libertarian and I think you should be able to do anything you want that doesn't affect others or the environment in a bad way.

Probably a personality thing. I've always been curious and somewhat of a thrill seeker. Drugs just seemed like the best of those two worlds. After doing some of them though, that assumption was wrong. I never found cocaine or meth all that fun, nor thrilling. Most of my drug use were pot and mushrooms, which in the right environment, both help remove some barriers in your brain to free thought.
Can't discount peer pressure either though. Not sure I'd have ever smoked crack or snorted meth if it wasn't for my degenerate friends offering them to me. Though I can say I only did those 2 drugs once. Once was more than enough.

i am in the middle of quitting dipping and have learned i am a weak weak willed man.

When I was younger, I bought into the whole anti-drug propaganda thing, but when you break it down - you ingest drugs all the time. Caffeine, alcohol, nyquil, Nicotine, etc... I just came to the conclusion it was all about who was making the profit on the drugs.
I agree with you in that life is a drug. There are things you in life that elicit the release (or the retention) of chemicals in the body. Simplistically, that is what drugs are doing as well.
At the end of the day, I make my choices based on my lifestyle, and the life I want to live. I expect others to make the same choice on their own. I hope they educate themselves, but that is their decision as well.

I've started and stopped smoking probably 10 times over the last 20 years. This last time I had quit for almost 5 years, but a couple of months I started back. I've only had maybe one pack in the past two months, but I still hate myself for starting back. Such a nasty habit.
