I'm pretty young and would enjoy some night life. Mid town good for that?

Yes it is. A lot of locally owned bars and restaurants.

Better than Collierville or Germantown.

Most young people live in Midtown.

The best advise I can give is to live in the corridor between Poplar and Walnut Grove.

Olive Branch or really anywhere outside the east side slums and you're good.

Germantown Commissary is the tits.

Damn hippies.

Really though, some of the best food is on Madsion.

ETA: Fuel is my current favorite restaurant in the city. BBQ Shop might be better than Commisaary.

If you want some night life and don't mind a commute you could live in Harbor Town. Check out Riverset apartments.

In midtown you will be hard pressed to find newer construction. You have a lot of homes built in the early 1900's, but are full of character, and the apartments are old too, but it really is a nice area. At your age, you would probably have much more fun living there than out in the suburbs.

I was talking about cities that are functioning.

And I knew you would be responding with the quickness.

There is no might about it. Haven't tried Fuel though.

This. Keep in mind Collierville and Germantown don't have bars. The closest ones are in Cordova. Midtown and downtown have a lot more for entertainment.

True story.

I find that the best way to figure out where I want to live is by searching for demographics maps. Most decently sized cities have them and it makes it easy to see where you do and don't want to live.

Yeah. I'll be living downtown soon though.

Metro67. View of the river and '13 ft. ceilings.

People knock on it, but Memphis is what you make of it. There is a lot of culture, and it can feel like one big, small town. We have great food, a great zoo, minor league baseball, and of course, the Grizz. Memphis in May is a must.

Also, not even 2 hours away is Pickwick, see my avi and sig, which is my happy place.

Lived in Memphis for a while. I told myself the sound I heard on one particular night was just a car back firing. Twice.

What about Mud Island?
