It's damn frustrating. I bust my arse to build a business. Started it right when the building/home crash hit full effect. Made it through that, finally starting to get ahead just a little bit. Then...THEN... it's like.. frick you and your hard work, we're taking more from you. Part of me wants to say it must be nice to be content to live in squalor and get a Gov't check and services.. just to sit on your arse and not earn it. But I can't do that. Yet, those folks reap more disposable income than I probably do due to a fricked up Gov't punishing working people.

Well Obamacare is making people buy private insurance. It isn't really a handout. It's actually a legit Republican idea that Romney implemented himself. I didn't vote for Obama, but I see nothing wrong with the mandate. What you alluded to is the cost, and that's a whole separate issue. First, the Democrats made no attempt to address cost, as they are liberals and that's there MO. Secondly, the system is so corrupted that there are no downward forces acting on costs. Our private health care is crooked.

Listen dick sucker. I went up last yr, after double digit increases in premiums. I didn't expect to get hit with another double digit increase. Having premiums double in two yrs, is outside of any normal type of preparation and as a small business owner, competitive prices is what keeps you in business, along with outstanding service. There's only so much you can go up though before you start losing customers. So to you, and to Telefawx who has no problem with the mandates and Obamacare.. frick off. frick yourself with a jagged 2 ft rusty pole. frick your family as well. I hope they have to suffer like millions have to now because of this shite legislation.

AuCatfish.. yeah.. BCBS and yeah.. I agree with you too. I understand they are passing costs too, but as a nonprofit, they are gouging I'm sure too. None of this would have been possible without Obama and Dems and Reps sitting on their asses capitulating to everything Obama wants. Or the blind dickheads like the 3 in this thread defending it and saying its better than what we had. I really really would not be displeased if there were a massive case of aneurysms that hit every legislator and architect of this shite legislation.

I know of a few small businesses that let everyone go and hired them back as independent contractors because of Obamacare. I also know of at least two that just closed their doors because they could not afford it, one sold out and the other just shut down, no they weren't very big companies but that's not the point. The point is they worked on a very thin profit margin and having to provide health insurance caused them to go into to red.

hence the problem, not trying to be an arse, just straight talk, man. You need to stay ahead of the gov't. If you ever think a new national gov't program will help the common man, its just not true as a small business owner.

Just stay ahead.

Exactly. For that good comment I will forego a Butch Jones joke at this time.

Make it thrice. Go frick yourself.

There's an ending point in costs that you can pass on to customers before you lose business. The Gov't has fricked small business. You think the record number of small business folding under Obama so far has been high? Just wait til this next year is over. And to reiterate, go frick yourself.

whatever, don't take my straight advice. If you continue with this way of thinking, your business will fail and you will be living off of others.

Sounds like you need to talk to a business advisor that understands gov't and business. You should hire one before you go bottoms up and have to start voting for the Democratic party to keep other peoples money coming to your mail box for you to survive.

Straight talk

Is this verifiable, or just your opinion?

Obamacare and single payer are both shite shows compared to what we had before.

Definitely for many, at least with Obamacare. We don't know about single payer, or what might happen with it. What we had before worked decently enough for many people, but was a shitshow for a lot of folks as well. There's no perfect system.

quote:

There is absolutely no defense of the shite that's happening

Well, I won't defend all of its attributes, but it has done some good for many people. No argument it has done some bad for many people as well. I thought all along it was a bad idea to keep the private insurance industry involved in it without a public option, and I still feel that way. At the very least there should have been a public option for those with pre-existing conditions to keep them out of the risk pool for the rest of us healthy people.

I can assure you their bottom line has never been at risk. Don't let big insurance fool you. They make money hand over fist, especially in health insurance. The issue is their profits would take a hit, and we can't have that now can we?!
