Sorry, bro. I feel your pain.
Obamacare is wealth redistribution, nothing more. It doesn't work if you don't pay more.

My company was with Anthem for years using a HDHP. We switched to self funded last year after Anthem told us the rates were going up almost 50%.
Our rates did still go up about 18%, but I'm told for next year, we might see a small decrease in premium costs.

I don't know what going to happen with us, all I know is I'm taking the cheapest plan they offer and will continue to my doctors that I trust and just pay out of pocket, frick having to change docs because the insurance company wants me to use their uneducated pos docs.

Upvoted because insurance melts are the most genuine and I can relate.

So single payer controls costs and maintains care?

Obama care is the main reason I sold my businesses ... it's a small business crippler in industries where you are competing against big business chains.
Small business (50-1500 employees) is being driven out of business in this country. Big business wants it all ... Obama has helped to contribute to this more than any POTUS in history. It's not even close and his two biggest weapons of choice are Obamacare and the EPA.

Have you ever really looked at a "single payer system"....let me just tell you that it sucks and the 1% pay for their own healthcare because it doesn't impact them.
I had better coverage under the old system and paid $425 a month. The day Obamacare went into effect, my plan went to shite and now I pay close to $900 a month. It is a tax plain and simple.

A hurricane hasn't hit Florida in years... Rates have gone up anywho. Charles would be proud of the insurance industry, unfortunately I mean Charles Ponzi.
As to the health insurance aspect... My step mom was blessed with brain cancer 20 months ago. Rates out the roof, dropped twice. Obamacare was about as awesome as the glioblastoma that killed her 2 weeks ago.

Single payer is the only way

Property rates are not determined on a state level like most people think. Unless your company is regionalized to only the state of Florida, which I highly doubt, considering that's not the best state to be in.

Our premiums went up last year, but nothing changed for this year's open enrollment. I expected changes last year since we switched carriers from Humana to Anthem. The premiums and prescription costs went up some, but wasn't as big as the jump we had about 6 years ago (premiums damn near doubled).
My biggest issue was the change of the classification of my OB/GYN to specialist (apparently Humana and Anthem looks at them differently) so my copay there went from $25 to $45.

No, but it prevents health care expenses from financially crippling everyday Americans, something that was happening before Obamacare and after Obamacare.
There is no perfect system. I actually think there should just be single payer for major medical expenses - hospitalizations, surgeries, cancer treatment, etc., while private insurance handles dental, vision, routine medical care, etc. Or vice versa.

Because most of us would rather not have VA level healthcare, which is EXACTLY what a single payer system will get you.
Oh, and the skyrocketing costs you'd see would make these insurance increases seem like the good times.

Or Medicare, which has very favorable reviews from its users.
