The only time I will kill a snake is when it is close to my house and it is venomous. Other than that, I just move them out far into our woods. I don't even mess with chicken/rat snakes.

Same. I absolutely hate snakes and am terrified of them but we have a garter snake that has lived in our bushes around the house the last few years. We don't bother him.

This, I mostly surveyed in marshes and swamps where you couldn't walk ten or twelve feet without getting on one. Most snakes will try to get out of your way but water moccasins seem to want to stand their ground for some reason.

Chicken snakes I'm cool with as long as they arent near me but I will kill a moccasin in a heartbeat. frick those bastards.

Just saw 2 timber rattlesnakes. Photographing snakes is just a hobby of mine. I have always been into reptiles, amphibians, and fish. I do vaccine research/development professionally.
